I recently attended a concert at the Freeman Coliseum in San Antonio, and my experience was a mixed bag. Here are some key points about my visit:
Venue Temperature: The hallway and the arena itself felt uncomfortably hot. This made it hard to fully enjoy the event, especially given the large crowd.
Food and Beverage Options: There werenโt many food choices available, which was disappointing. When I bought a Smart Water, it was poured into a cup, which I found quite odd. To make matters worse, there were no lids available for the cup, creating a spill risk.
Restroom Experience: The restrooms were packed, which is expected at a concert. However, as I am pregnant, an employee kindly directed me to a less busy restroom behind some black curtains. Unfortunately, when I got there, two staff members rudely confronted me, saying it was a restroom for sheriffs only. After explaining that another employee had sent me there, they reluctantly let me use it. This interaction was unnecessarily stressful and poorly handled.
Atmosphere: During the concert, I smelled marijuana, which was quite shocking and unpleasant. I had to cover my nose, which detracted from the experience.
Positive Note: On a positive note, the band that played was amazing and made the evening enjoyable despite the other issues.
Conclusion: Overall, the management of the Freeman Coliseum did not meet my expectations. There are several areas that need improvement, from the temperature control to better staff communication and more food options. While the concert itself was great, the venue left much...

Got lucky found a space not to much further from the entrance. Once in side my wife who is mobility challenged and me were walking through the Concourse trying to figure out where to see directions for handicap seating. It was really crowded and we were having trouble finding signs. Walked up to one of the Volunteer Helpers asked which way to go. They didn't just tell us where they were we were escorted to the handicap seating. My wife Lethea uses a Walker. We got situated and Lethea asked me to go get her a program. Well I headed out to look for the programs when I saw another Volunteer Helper her name was Gracie I asked her where I could find the programs. Gracie said if there are any left they will be at the Concourse entrance but if they were out of them she had one we could have. There weren't any programs left. Went back to Gracies Station, told her they were out of programs. She then handed me the one she had. What an excellent Volunteer Helper Team. God Bless um, they were so very helpful. Thanks again for all the help. Lethea and Mike are very...
ย ย ย Read moreThis was my first time at this venue, had floor tickets and was let in at the front entrance. Went down to the floor (where I bought the tickets) and they said I needed a wrist band. I politely asked where to get the wrist band and the woman nicely directed me back to the entrance. When I got to the exact entrance and lady for a wrist band while also showing my ticket, they told me I should have gotten it when I came the first time. This was my first time at the venue and had no idea I needed a wrist band. They rescannwd my ticket and got the manager. He confirmed that I'd already checked into the concert and told me I need to grab them when I walked in. I pointed out there was no way for me to know I was supposed to receive a wrist band and that I paid for the tickets and showed him the tickets again. A woman interrupted me and said "you should know what you paid for the ticket! That is your responsibility!".
I have NEVER gone to a venue where they expect YOU to know things about the ticketing that isn't on the actual ticket or anywhere in the email. They were so rude to me and my party. Again, never received such poor treatment from the people running a show, they...
