What a fantastically huge park! I went specifically for the disc golf and following the park address will...technically not get you there. The address does take you to the kids park, where you will find a huge playground. There are regular park restrooms with regular park amenities near the front before the playground. Someone was throwing a bday party in a section special finally for events. The parking lot to as not full so plenty of parking, but we did go on a Sunday about 1pm. Beyond those spaces the area is surrounded by hills that will give you quite a workout. One hill had some sort of gliding thing going on. My SO climbed a hill to look for the course and saw a path for walkers, runners, maybe cyclists too, but we didn't see any. Upon his return, he informed that there are baskets on the other side and having already looked up more clarifying directions we hopped into the car drove about a quarter of a mile to another parking lot that had a dog park, soccer field and the disc golf we were looking for. It seemed like a great course, unfortunately we decided that playing in 100° weather was not going to be fun, so we left! We are out of state so next time we come to SA we will give it...
Read moreI wish I would’ve found this playground and splash pad sooner. This is a must-do for anyone with small children that they are trying to keep busy and occupy (so you don’t lose your mind over the summer). This park is amazing. It has a multi-age level playground, swings, climbing contraptions, splash pad, a multitude of food/dessert trucks/on site bathrooms and shaded sitting areas. Recommend bringing a change of clothes and feel free to bring your own snacks if you would like as they are plenty of trash cans and recycling receptacles all over the park. Additionally, I did not see anyone taking a bath in a splash pad or harassing any of the parents for change. The playground is a mix of rubber turf and mulch. So I would recommend close-toed shoes. Don’t forget the sunscreen! This playground is not shaded. If you want to cool down you run over to the splash pad.
About five minutes from this playground is also a running trail, basketball court, confidence course, dog park, and bicycle park where I saw several young, helmeted children testing out their moves on the bike park ramps.
It’s worth the drive to check out. Trust me, you will spend several...
Read morePearsall Park in San Antonio is a hidden gem, perfect for a day out with family or friends. This park has everything—from a huge playground where kids can let loose to a fantastic skate park that brings in locals of all ages. The walking trails are wide and well-kept, making them great for a jog, a peaceful walk, or even a stroller push.
One of the biggest highlights is the splash pad, especially for those hot Texas days! It’s a fun spot to cool down, and there’s plenty of seating nearby for parents to keep an eye on the kids while they enjoy. The park is also dog-friendly, with a large dog park area where you can let your furry friends run free and socialize.
The views are another thing to mention—you get these wide-open spaces and nice overlooks of San Antonio’s skyline. Plus, there are workout stations along the trails, which I appreciate for breaking up the walk or getting in a quick exercise. Whether you’re there for a picnic, some outdoor fitness, or just to unwind, Pearsall Park really has a little bit of everything for everyone....
