In 2009, after being discharged from the navy. I was instructed to go to a doctor's office for counseling. Mind you, I was new to San Diego and had no idea where I was going. I was on a bus and got off at the wrong stop. After walking for a while, I saw the armed services ymca. So I walked up to the door and went inside. I did not go any further than the front door. Where I waited for someone to come out. When someone did come out, it was a huge guy, and before I could say one word, he started barking at me like a junkyard dog. All I wanted was directions, nothing more. He threw me out of the building like I was trash. Your staff member didn't even care enough to take the time to see that I was holding my veterans ID card. After what I've been through in Iraq and Afghanistan, I did not expect to be treated like this by any other member of the military service. Read moreThis organization may do good work but some of their fundraising tactics make me disappointed. A young man came to my door asking for a donation and I agreed to $25 and after that he said it would be recurring monthly but I could stop it at anytime. When I called in to provide my credit card the man on the phone reiterated this and I said that I would be canceling the recurring monthly donation and at that he basically hung up on me. I'm guessing the poor young guy who came to my door will not get credit for his work either. I question the fundraising tactics of any organization that is unwilling to take a cash donation even if it is a one time donation. I also called the organization to talk about it but no one ever called me back. The whole incident probably took up 30 minutes of my time and left me...

BUT I am only giving 2 stars due to the unforseen experience we had recently with their Operations Little Learners (OLL) program. It used to be a fun and learning program for toddlers but recently they changed their program manager , coordinator and in room teachers. And everything is different now , the program got worst and unorganized not to mention discriminatory and super unfair. They removed people in the program...
