My favorite place to run/walk/ kayak!
Miramar Lake used to not have bathrooms along the trail ’ but now they do, and it’s been years but still makes a huge difference! Going to Poway lake is more of a commitment that’s uncomfortable because there’s no bathrooms apart from the main entrance one and it’s usually not clean.
This loop is perfect for walking. Tons of bikes, scooters, walkers, families. Parking lot can be busy, get here early especially during peak outdoor activity seasons like spring and summer.
Kayaking is comfortable and lovely as well!
Never looked into it but you can setup for a party at more than more little spot along the trail, driving your car on the paved road to these spots next to the lake.
I highly recommend Miramar Lake Loop! Safe, paved, flat, and absolutely gorgeous in beautiful...

Parking is free, and restrooms are available near the parking lot and in a few other spots. Overall, this is a great place for both running and walking amidst a...

Cons: Popularity which leads to a tough parking situation (there’s plenty of parking at the Scripps Miramar Ranch Library); cars/trucks, etc., that are allowed to use the trail to drive ¾ of the way around the lake to reach a picnic area; people on e-bikes; people who don’t pick up...
