The equestrian center has very nice facilities with picnic tables, barbecue pits, and 12x12 corrals. There is a small arena for turnouts/warm ups.
The trails are generally nice and well maintained. My only complaint is being restricted to very steep and challenging power line access roads when riding off the Grasslands Crossing. It is pretty clear the equestrian center gets little use, and it is likely due to the limitation on where one may ride.
That said, these are superior trails for conditioning endurance horses for elevation and climbing. There really is nowhere else in San Diego one could prepare a horse adequately for a ride like Tevis, Virginia City, or the Van...

Read moreVery nice dog friendly trail, go in the early morning to avoid all the people and dogs you’ll have the trail to yourself if you do. Also make sure to always check your doggo afterwards for ticks. This was my 3.5 month ol pups first hike and he came home with a tick on his face, poor lil dude. Overall he loved it and seeing him run around in nature made me happy....
