I wish I didn't throw my food away before taking a photo. They definitely get the crowds from the base and so you don't ever have to worry about business. Unfortunately as someone who has been in San Diego with the Navy since 2009 I have eaten at the trucks on base for several years. The prices have gone up with inflation understandably, however the quality and flavor has gone down so bad it's not worth the price for anything you serve. The meat is flavorless now, beans are so watered down to stretch out product that it's flavorless and noticeable. There is hardly any filling in the burritos that are now $10.00. The chipotle salsa used to be so creamy and amazing. Again watered down so bad it pours everywhere. This is the sign of knowing you're going to get military to buy because they don't have any other options. So your taking advantage now by giving less product with no quality once so ever and charging more for that low quality product. No one ever has a problem paying for a good quality food item. The problem we have is when you lower the product quality to make it stretch further to put more money in your pocket in the long run. So needless to say I won't be wasting my money on these trucks until they bring the quality back to match the price. SAVE YOUR MONEY! Make the trip outside the gates so many high quality locals out...
Read moreWe were at Miramar air show today. I purchased the burrito 21 dollars , my husband purchased the three tacos 21 dollars and my daughter selected the quesadilla 12 dollars . We also purchased 3 drinks, 5 dollars each. My husband asked for a receipt but his request was ignored by the person who collected the money. My husband was charged on his credit card 78 dollars. We sat down to eat the food as we watched the air show. Unfortunately the tacos were not seasoned well, the meat was not well cooked, the portions were very small. My burrito was dry, had very small amount of meat and it was wrapped sloppily. My daughter said her food was acceptable . My husband threw all three tacos, I ate 1/3 of the burrito and then had to discarded it. My daughter finished her most of her quesadilla. The bottled drinks were very good but the food itself was definitely not worth 78 dollars. We were still wondering why the extra charge on the credit card. It was one of worst food experience we had. Definitely not worth purchasing food from...
Read moreThese trucks WERE the standard, now they can’t seem to figure out who they used to be. The burritos are garbage. The meat quality is by far the worst I’ve been served (and I spent 20 years in the military). They over charge, even with the prices posted and they don’t care when you ask about it. If you don’t watch them, they will conveniently skip ingredients that are supposed to be on your food (they are even listed on the menu and in the back in instruction cards). The dark blue, Navy themed truck that used to frequent NAVWAR was a saving grace… then this pepto bottle looking pink machine replaced it and Mr Talaveras has set Moody’s...
