Red Butte is a destination on the trails from the top parking lot of the reserve that's only a short distance from the trailhead. It's relatively flat and a good place to stop if you don't want to walk down the slope to Razor Point. You get a fantastic view of the Pacific Ocean and most of the Reserve. Just before you get to Red Butte, there's a cut-off trail to the left that takes you down a short path under the trees which joins the trail to the beach. So if you don't want to walk to Razor Point but you want to get to Flat Rock, back track just a bit and take the little trail now on your right. The kids...
