I live to bring my foster dogs to the dog park at Progress Park! It's got a nice large gated area for the dogs to play, the dogs there are always friendly with others as well. The other end of the park recently had a fitness station put into it, there is a swing and a Petaunc (bowls?) field as well. A few downsides of the park, there are foxtails in some of the areas which are bad for dogs (none in the dog park itself though), the water bowl for the dogs is stagnant and when people bring my containers for the water they are always taken by the next day. There is also often at least one homeless person camped out under the highway entrance but they don't tend to bother others

Really nice park out in the Dogpatch! Nice paved path with arranged chairs, benches, and a swing! Bocce court, fitness aparatus, and cute little gardening installations. Will stop by every time I'm walking by!

Great place to stop and have lunch. Mixed shade and sunny spots. Workout areas and a walking rock labyrinth. There is also a solo swing and fun art work mixed into the landscaping.

This is about The Backyard at Progress Park, which is the dog park portion of the entire park. This is a terrific little neighborhood dog park right under the 280 freeway in the Dogpatch section of San Francisco. As there are not an abundance of fenced-in parks in the city, this one is really good, great dogs and great people. It is a nice size, wood chips, and they actually just laid out a fresh new batch of them, as of the date of this posting. It has a great water fountain for dogs inside, and lots of places to sit for the people. I live in Pacifica and actually drive out here sometimes, because it's such a great little park. Do note that this is just one park for all dog sizes -- there is not a separate small dog park -- but the dogs all seem to get along, big and small. We use this park alternately with St. Mary's, Upper Douglas, and Rincon Hill, the other good fenced-in dog parks...

My friends and I went to this location looking for a dog park. We had read on Google that there was a dog park with a sizable gate around it and lots of trees so the dogs will be running around in nature. We went on a Saturday around 1:00 p.m., thinking maybe it would be just lull enough since her dogs are a little bit anxious around other dogs. When we got there, we saw that there was some kind of party happening with a bunch of people, but no dogs. So we walked around the area and found the dog park somewhat in the back, but it was completely chained off and closed. I guess there are hours to the dog park specifically, unfortunately we don't know what...
