The Box Shop It is a unfailing lifeline to the artist in the rough and uncaring tidewaters of gentrification in San Francisco. It is a dirty, covered in oil, a what is this on my hands, gem and heart space. There are tools from days gone by and tools that are on the cutting edge of technology and they are all being used in ways there were not intended to be used. And we are better for it. It is the last of its type and should be supported and celebrated as a San Francisco treasure.

Charles Gadeken is the mastermind behind the space, as well as installations that incorporate light across the City. He started off with a couple of containers, and now there dozen scattered around. I highly recommend checking it out if they're open and really getting an incredible tour...
