The Box Shop — Attraction in San Francisco

The Box Shop It is a unfailing lifeline to the artist in the rough and uncaring tidewaters of gentrification in San Francisco. It is a dirty, covered in oil, a what is this on my hands, gem and heart space. There are tools from days gone by and tools that are on the cutting edge of technology and they are all being used in ways there were not intended to be used. And we are better for it. It is the last of its type and should be supported and celebrated as a San Francisco treasure.

There are boxes and a shop... Not really sure what else there...

We went to the open artist studios today. This place is an artist collective with many different artists, doing work and creating art in San Francisco. The place itself is like an art gallery, with art painted onto the massive shipping containers that are the artist studios. Donate if you’re able to help these artists; they’re going through a transition currently and need to move locations. It’s an arduous process and they need all the help...

What an amazing location! They were hosting an open house, so we got to check out dozens of amazing murals from some of the best artists around the world. Charles Gadeken is the mastermind behind the space, as well as installations that incorporate light across the City. He started off with a couple of containers, and now there dozen scattered around. I highly recommend checking it out if they're open and really getting an incredible tour...
