Update for May 2023 - the playstructure on the older kid playground has a double slide that has been blocked off with plywood at the top and a cage around one portion at the bottom where the slide has been somewhat disassembled. There doesn't seem to be any work happening to fix this for at least the past week and there are no signs posted or other information I could find as to what is happening or when the slide will be repaired)
Kirk park is great - large open field for sports or dogs playing fetch, separate but adjacent playgrounds for small kids and big kids. There are a few fun murals in between the buildings - the one showing many animals is large and fun for asking children to run to one section or another to find an animal. Nice path around the park for walking, as well as two full basketball courts in the back, adjacent to two horseshoe pits. Along the back fence line are huge cacti and some truly impressive redwoods. There is a bookable picnic area as well for parties and 2 bathrooms and water fountains. Most recently, a group of volunteers has added a native plant and pollinator garden across the field from the playgrounds. It is both beautiful and a relatively seamless addition to the park. There are signs and markers with each plant name for those who are curious. Recently the larger of the two parking lots was converted to house city vehicles, so be forewarned that there isn't a lot of lot parking available. However, there is a lot of street parking and parking on...
Read moreI co-hosted a baby shower at Kirk Park and absolutely love the site. We are from out of town but the mother to be is from San Jose so we had to do it locally. The online pics don’t show a decent idea of the picnic are but it was enough to see it was all under trees.
It was perfect.
We didn’t use the BBQ pits so that was a non issue. We had 40 guests and more than enough space for them, games, food, and more.
The restrooms are right by the picnic area which the guests were thrilled about. Our 89 year old gramma (90 in two months) was so happy with the cleanliness of the restroom, it had seat covers, and soap and paper towels.
So many guests commented on what a perfect location for the event. Many of them had no idea this perfect little Park was so close to them.
I’m thankful we rented this facility and totally...
Read moreNice park! 2 different play structures for different ages. A large grass area and a beautiful garden with signs denoting the different types of plants & flowers. The grass could use a mow the first week we visited, but on Saturday morning I saw a bunch of volunteers taking care of the garden. There is a basketball court & horse shoe area. The park is behind a community center, so I assume there are...
