I am a physician and have been going to Zaza since it opened. Have never found a cleaner, quieter and more peaceful place to get a mani pedi. I have had several patients who had infections from the jet foot baths at other salons so I referred them to Zaza where there are no pipes to sanitize, just metal basins with river rocks. You can hear them cleaning the basins and the laundry machines going in the back when you go to the bathroom, so they are constantly washing. The whole place is very clean, even the bathroom and the corners. That's the first thing I look for, in my profession. I did go once to Nail Shop in Walnut Creek because I had a Groupon and a gift card from someone, looking for a great deal - dirty, noisy and poor gel products. Never again!
Second - it's very quiet and peaceful. The manicurists are not chatting with each other or calling out across the room. That's why it's called "Spa" and not "Salon". The plush chairs all recline so people can really relax instead of sitting up straight in a hard plastic chair. They serve water, tea and sometimes wine to really relax! No tips done here, so no grinding noises and chemical smells to bother you.
Third - great jobs on manicures and pedis - the Zaza is my favorite and they do a great job on gels. They are very knowledgeable about the brand of gels that work and don't peel off. Very important to me since my nails seem not to hold every kind of gel well.
Even men come here regularly because it's not noisy and "girly". Highly, highly...
Read moreThis place is fraud!! Don’t ever go there! I went today for a shellac manicure and came home absolutely cheated. Their towels were dirty, the lady didn’t know how to remove the powder thing on my nails that I had got done earlier from another place and then another lady came and helped her. They took almost 2 hours for the manicure when all they did was remove and paint it again with some basic cleaning like other places. After all that my nails didn’t even look evenly done. Even if I forget all of this, the billing is where I was absolutely duped. They asked me to pay $66 saying that for acrylic removal they charge. I paid although something didn’t seem right. After a little while I called them to check how much is the shellac gel and they say $38. My next question how much is the earlier polish removal ( which I haven’t ever paid at any other place) and they said $20 so I asked them then why did they charge me $66 instead of $58 and he then says oh ok we will refund the difference to your card.Don’t know if they even will but I am absolutely sure I am never going there again. This is nothing but a classic example...
Read moreI have been to Za Za several times now. We had my daughter's 7th birthday party here as well. I have gotten a pedicure here and had my daughter's nails done as well as polish changes. Overall the experiences have been positive. We have gotten a gal who did seem angry about changing colors at times. (Same gall both times.) She has since been added to my profile as someone we would not like to have in the future.
The service at the front desk has been friendly lately. The chairs are comfy and the atmosphere is relaxing. I do wish they had the regular chairs with the tubs and did not use bowls of water that get cold quickly.
They have a nice selection of colors as well. Although do what they call "dry manicures". So no soaking your hands in water first. I found this to be a little unusual.
I use them as a back up plan when I need a quick service closer to home. They can be hard to schedule an appointment with. They seem to have a limited staff most of the time and forget just walking in and getting a...
