A hidden gem in Atlanta. The trail is moderate and kids friendly. I went there with my toddler and he enjoyed the trail alot. He was able to walk most of the part except the hike at the end while coming back. We took EP13-EP21-EP22-EP23-EP17-EP16-EP26 to reach the Forrest. Route between EP22-EP23 is little uneven trail and you might need to carry your kid. Rest all the path was well craved. While returning back from Forrest we took EP26-EP16-EP17-EP23-EP14-EP12-EP24-EP22-EP21-EP13 Its a steep hike between EP23-EP22. So be ready for it. I believe if you choose this path to go to Forrest it would be easier since it would be downhill. It was almost 3Miles distance for entire loop. Bamboo Forrest is a beautiful place to enjoy nature and very picturesque place.

Oh, what an incredible morning we had. My walking journey just elevated to hiking. The crew & I hiked the wonderful Bamboo Forest Trail. Out in the rugged terrain of Sandy Springs, GA, there is a beautiful trail where tranquil water from the Chattahoochee River runs through, tall bamboo grows, and a winding tree. This is what we mean when we say, "we're outside!"

Very fun destination in Sandy Springs. Hard to believe this is right in the middle of a town. Found it very easy to navigate from the parking area to the forest. Not sure how anyone could get lost; every fork in the trail had a map. Just head to EP26 for the bamboo. Saw several deer, lots of birds, and many unusual fungi.

Access to Chattahoochee, beautiful ferns and trees, and bamboo if you make it through the warren of mostly shaded trails. Well marked maps at most splits in the trails make it navigable.

Decently high elevation change, can get muddy if it’s been raining a lot. Parking is limited and a fee so carpool or Uber is best especially during peak times. No restrooms or outhouses or water filling stations...

Even though parking is free but spots are limited, place isn't open as per timings shown on g maps, apparently the decision is taken without informing visitors & randomly visitors are told to enter from other areas or park at other spots which are awfully far away😡😤 from the main bamboo forest entrance, please stick to morning hours such 9/10 am to 3/4 pm otherwise no guarantees of entering...
