I decided to go ahead and lease with Walton so when I came to sign my lease it was close to 530p. Once I got there Sarah gave me the info I needed to sign my lease. As I’m reading over my lease I can tell that she was in a rush. I then said “i’m so sorry I just need to read over this lease”. She said “so you’re going to read all 47 pages?”. I was stunned. That rubbed me the wrong way. Then as I am signing the paperwork she would say “please sign here very quickly” as if she was in a rush. Keep in mind it was almost 6 PM which was the time they close. Once I received my keys she then gave me the walk-through paper to sign. I asked her “do you want me to sign this paper although we did not do a walk-through together?”. She said that she went through the apartment herself and that all I need to do is sign the paper because that is how they do it at Walton and she wasn’t sure how they did it elsewhere. Then stated after I do the walk-through myself I can bring the paper back. Once I left with my keys I went looking for my apartment. I got lost because she failed to show me where my apartment was and where the mailboxes were. Once I finally found the apartment I noticed that she put me to the back which was something that I requested I did not want before moving in. I also did not have any service....not one bar in that apartment. Keep in mind I have a daughter. I immediately reached out to Sarah as well as the property manager Kimberly. I sent them both emails with my concerns. They did eventually move me to another apartment which took a few days for me to get in. Once I received my new keys to my new apartment I thought that I would be happy. I was wrong. I was never given another form for the walk through. I was never told how to turn on the fireplace from Sarah. I was never told where the mailboxes were located. Sarah told me my mailbox number was 146. Come to find out it was actually 126. Now we have come to the ultimate issue. Mold!!!it was mold build up on the vents as well as the window.there were bugs in the light domes that were never cleaned out prior to me moving in. There are blue spots on several areas of the rugs. There’s a sticky spot on the rug that I mentioned to Sarah and she stated someone will get that up for me. I’ve reached out to Matt on my concerns as well. There’s a horrible smell in this apartment that no matter how much I clean I can’t get that smell to go away. There are vents in here that are super dusty that clearly were not cleaned prior to me moving in. There’s a rack missing in my refrigerator which I’m sure I would get charged for had I not mentioned it. There’s lightbulbs that are out that I just noticed. No one would allow their family to live here under these conditions. There’s an email that was sent to me from Kimberly the property manager after I filled out the survey that was sent to me asking about my move in experiences. Instead of her addressing all the issues and fixing them she’d rather give me the option to move. She stated that Walton was not the place for me. I received my rent money back for the month I paid. This is not how you treat residents. I had to hurry to find another apartment because I only was given a month to move out. Keep in mind I spent large amounts of money to move into Walton. Only to have to spend more money to move out. This added stress on me and my daughter. Is this how future residents should be treated just because they are mentioning issues especially mold within...
Read moreWalton on the Chattahoochee is fabulous. The owner walks the community often to make sure it meets his standards and to identify issues that need fixing. He is also friendly and asks about our experience here. I have rented many places in my 69 years so have a lot of experience, and never seen a management group so involved with the day to day operation. Kudos to Mr T and his staff!! I am amazed and impressed.
The grounds are incredible. Tree covered with a large assortment of different flowering bushes that all seem to bloom at different times. One community trail provides a quiet oasis among huge majestic trees, beautiful flowers and flowering bushes. For the inquisitive small plaques tell you the names of the trees and bushes. Nice touch.
The river walk area is so beautiful. The sound of the river and the many flowers create a tranquil setting. Many people here have dogs and most pick up after their pets. It was important that I find a dog friendly place to walk.
The amenities include two pools that are always clean and well taken care of, two dog parks (small and large dog), two very clean laundry rooms, spotless workout room with equipment, lots of charcoal grills that are cleaned every day, and a nice Coffee shop.
The operating staff is very friendly from the people who lease the units (Novia and Isaiah), clean the amenities and units (Maria, Uraida), take care of the grills and dog stations, etc and run special events (Rollie, Haruko) clean the pool area (Jorge), maintain/manage the buildings (Chris, Matt, Justin), Brenda and I know I missed others.
For perfect honesty I need to say the units squeak as in the floors in the townhouses creak when you walk in certain rooms. Aside from that VERY HAPPY to rent here.
I can’t forget the friendly residents. Wow what a diverse community we have. Interesting and nice people with so many different talents and experiences. Young, older, multicultural and diverse backgrounds and education with a mosaic of experiences make for friendly and sometimes opposing views and discussions. Intellectually stimulating. Love...
Read moreVery unhappy with treatment from the Legacy at Walton Ridge staff. I put in an application in May 2023. paid $26.00 for the application fee. They insisted I do so, as I was told that there was 3 year waiting list and the only way to be considered was to pay the application fee; so I could be placed on that list. I called today Nov 27, 2023, to get an update on how far I had advanced on the list, only to be told that they no longer have a list and my app was cancelled after 120 days. How am I supposed to know you cancel apps after 120 days??? and how was I supposed to know that corporate got rid of the waiting list, you never informed me??Then I was told, maybe I should have called every week to see where I was on the list. So, let me get this straight.. You tell me there is a 3 year waiting list, then expect me to call every week for three years to check on my application? 52 weeks in a year times 3 years equals 156 calls I am expected to make, while you keep my application fee with NO notification that after 120 days I will be removed? Then I was told they get about 800 applications a week, which equals approx., $21, 000 a week just in application fees! And, they stated, they don't have time to notify everyone about their application. Well, what is the money for if you don't have any responsibility to perform a service for the money???
As a senior, I feel abused, mistreated and misinformed. And when I called to discuss what happened, the person who answered the phone hung up on me "Courtney" They took my money, never informed me of anything, then tried to flip the script and responsibility to me for not notifying me. Senior should not be dismissed and robbed with no consequence. Seems like there needs to be an investigation as to how much money is being made in application fees with no work being done on the application! Maybe...
