Very large parking lot right next to Hwy 26 before the entrance to Frog Lake Campground. There is a vault restroom. And this is an intersectional spot for PCT and local Twin Lakes trails. So it's a popular spot for a multi-day or just a day hike. Words of caution: many broken car glasses in parking lot as a sign of popular car-breaking-in's. I had to constantly think about my car being broken into, so this is not what I need when I try to relax and to enjoy the hiking through the day(and night). It's definitely worth the extra drive if you're choosing between this and...
Read moreJust beautiful! The parking lot had very little snow and it wasn't to busy. The road down to the lake was only passable using well equipped 4x4 or snowmachine. We opted for walking. It wasn't but a 20 minute walk with kiddos in tow. The lake was frozen over with signs of people venturing out with their wheeled machines. The ice looked rather thick with a mushy spot in the middle. Bbe advised that falling in the frozen water can kill! Be carefull you cannot tell where the shore line is. If your able to find a sheltered little spot to sit a few you will not be let down with your...
