Nice trial to twin lakes. I went on a Wednesday in August and only saw a few other people during my 3 hour hike. Limited views on this trail. There were a couple of glimpses of Mt Hood but none that were unobstructed that I found until I got to the upper lake. Both lakes are awesome, the upper lake gives you views of the summit of Mt Hood.

This was a wonderful little place to go day hiking. I'm sure it would be alot prettier in the summer months. There is a full campground right by the lake with really nice campsites. This trail is also part of the Pacific Crest Trail that goes through Oregon. I would highly recommend a day hike here.

The campground is nice. The lakes water level was low. You can hike the Frog Lake Butte trail, and take the Pacific Crest trail to the Twin Lakes. The weather was cloudy so I wasn't able to get any pictures with Mount Hood in them but still enjoyed the area.

Very large parking lot right next to Hwy 26 before the entrance to Frog Lake Campground. There is a vault restroom. And this is an intersectional spot for PCT and local Twin Lakes trails. So it's a popular spot for a multi-day or just a day hike. Words of caution: many broken car glasses in parking lot as a sign of popular car-breaking-in's. I had to constantly think about my car being broken into, so this is not what I need when I try to relax and to enjoy the hiking through the day(and night). There was a Sheriff vehicle patrolling the parking lot during mid-day. But those car thieves can be watching and monitoring at any time. So lock and not make your belongs visible inside your...

This is a great summer hike - mostly nice forest with dappled sunlight so it's not too warm. Both of the twin lakes are pleasant with nice camp sites and picnic areas. Looping from lower twin lake to upper and on up to the Barlow pass junction, then returning back on the PCT is about seven miles with about a 6-7 hundred ft elevation change. We went on a Thursday, starting about 10:30 am and had the trails almost to ourselves - seeing a few backpackers on their way out, and then several camping groups on their way in for the weekend - when we got back close to the trailhead. It's definitely worth the extra drive if you're choosing between this and...

Just beautiful! The parking lot had very little snow and it wasn't to busy. The road down to the lake was only passable using well equipped 4x4 or snowmachine. We opted for walking. It wasn't but a 20 minute walk with kiddos in tow. The lake was frozen over with signs of people venturing out with their wheeled machines. The ice looked rather thick with a mushy spot in the middle. Bbe advised that falling in the frozen water can kill! Be carefull you cannot tell where the shore line is. If your able to find a sheltered little spot to sit a few you will not be let down with your...
