Hosted one of our RSL Summer Soccer clinics at Storm Mountain at the end of July. The park was undergoing a facelift, looked like they are putting in pickle ball courts and redoing some of the sidewalks, so it was a bit unwelcoming for our event. Even so, the field is large and was enough space for all of our fields and a private trainer running his sessions simultaneously. This is a good park, especially for the grassy area; and with the addition of the pickle ball courts it will be even better. There are lots of mature trees to provide ample shade over the pavilions, pickle ball courts, and the surrounding hill. The singular complaint is that the surrounding hill is steep and really does surround most of the park making access more difficult then it needs to be, especially for wheelchair bound and elderly.

For how compact it is, there's such a variety of what to do! Plenty of parking (likely for the basin park below to the west, which has soccer and baseball setups), a pavilion with 11 bench tables, restrooms attached and garbage cans, lots of mature trees, benches and grass for picnic blankets, tennis courts, a bike lock rack, and a paved walkway all around the basin field. Great view of the valley and mountain to the west too. The playground equipment is cool. Forest theme. Lots of climbing options (rock wall too), two of each bucket/saddle swings, monkey bars, three slides, and a spinning element. Wood chips and a sloped curb all the way around. Lovely park!

It's small, clean, and has a playground suited for toddlers. Parking has about 20-30 stalls if that; however, there is some street parking on 11400 South. It does have bathrooms and a covered picnic area. It also has a paved walking trail that goes around the field. For over 20 years, the annual hot air balloon launch is held at this park in August. Lastly, it is next to a walking trail that connects Sandy to Draper. Video was taken in the fall with the Wasatch mountains in the back and the field in the foreground.

Storm Mountain Park is one of the top parks in Sandy City! There is something for almost everyone in the family. There are two tennis courts (FULL size!), A playground (With REAL swings for both infants/toddlers and a set for kids up to adults! ), A large covered picnic table area with a BBQ grill, drinking fountain, and restrooms that don't stink (Sandy Parks cleans and stocks them daily and they automatically lock at night to prevent any mischief), there is a paved jogging loop (75% asphalt and 25% concrete), and finally there is a large multi-use field that has a baseball diamond (with team and fan seating, a large backcage to prevent any balls from going into the crowd or houses, plenty of space for home runs to not worry about hitting anything), a large soccer/football/frisbee/lacrosse/etc field next to the baseball field (allowing multiple types of games/events to use the field space at the same time.) The field area is depressed over 6' from the rest of the parks elevation, allowing users the freedom to kick, hit, throw, etc without needing to worry if their ball or frisbee might go into traffic or hit a car. The only concern with this park is it being located next to a very busy road (11400 South), this road has thousands of cars using it daily as it's a 5 lane (middle turning lane) Main road that soans the width of the valley and connects to I-15, Bangerter, and the new highway out west. The redeeming factors to this is their is an IHC Clinic right across the street and 2 hospitals with ER's less than 5 miles away, and a Maverick and Harmon's right down the street for those last minute BBQ treats or that ice cold drink after...
