POSITIVES: Don't let the name fool you, this place is chock full of options besides sushi. Whether it's curry, rice, noodles, teriyaki chicken, a bento box, or a variety of ramen, this place offers lots of satisfying options. The appetizers are equally tempting : edamame, calamari, gyoza, takoyaki, etc. As far as sushi goes, this place nails it with a blend of great flavor and awesome presentation. I ordered the colorful "Playboy roll" (fried shrimp, salmon, tobiko--tiny fish eggs, and jalapeño) and the "Phoenix roll" (tempura shrimp, eel, avocado, salmon, jalapeño, green onion, sesame seeds, teriyaki sauce, and spicy mayo.). This roll was unlike anything if ever been presented with at a sushi restaurant...trust me, it is very exciting and worth every penny. The Japanese decor and theme is very friendly and inviting. The waitress was extremely polite and knowledgeable. Also, the mochi ice cream is fabulous, and you can't go wrong with it. NEGATIVES: the menu was covered in grease from someone fingers... Not sure if the material just attracts grease really easily or something... Also, there was a BOGO 50% off for all sushi rolls... I only ordered 2 rolls myself (one was $15ish, the other would have been about $7 with the offer), and I somehow still walked out paying $30, aside from tip. Still not terrible, but not what I had expected. PRICE: expect to pay $15-30 per person depending on how much food you get. VERDICT: it was a fun experience, and I'm definitely curious about some of the other sushi rolls (and curry!) It's love to come back, but given the price, I may have to wait until my work takes us out so it's on their dime.

Decent sushi for a reasonable price. We stop in every once in a while because they do have a few interesting rolls that are fun to try. Most of the rolls are in the $9-16 range, but they do buy one get one 50% off so that helps a little. Plan on $10-12 per roll. I would recommend coming here if you're tired of your regular sushi place and want to try something different once. Overall, there are better and cheaper sushi places out there, so this wouldn't be my main go to place. Service is usually ok, but not great. Last time we went in we waited for 5 to 10 minutes before they noticed us to get a seated, (on a Thursday). Food comes out quickly. Rolls can be a little hit and miss. On our last visit the seaweed used to wrap the roles was a little chewy, made the rolls a little harder to eat. Some of the rolls are pretty good, others just OK. Ichi roll is always good. Seasons roll was different and pretty good. We also tried the cucumber wrapped roll with spicy plum sauce. Definitely interesting to try, but not super delicious probably wouldn't order again.

I am a regular here. This medium sized sushi shop is conveniently located next to Harmons grocers and has a modern upbeat feel to it. The staff are always kind. The chef is proud of his creations, and who wouldn’t be? The food here is amazing. I recommend the Eggplant appetizer. It is out of this world good and so unique! It’s also very fairly priced compared to other places and they’re always offering specials. I also LOVE their ramen!!! I am so happy to know right down my road there is The Sushi and their ramen is unparalleled. Even compared to places like Tonkatsu, I still prefer The Sushi’s ramen. Call me crazy but it’s true :) for winter months it’s a must to go and try out!

I am sorry to report that my experience wasn't very good here. Our server was very nice and very friendly. So, my review is mixed on the food. We had sushi and 2 other entrées... The sushi was passable albeit a bit fishy 🐟 🤔 indicating an old fish. We also ordered shrimp fried rice. That was absolutely delicious!!! I decided to go with a "safe" entrée and ordered the teriyaki chicken. I often get this at Nagoya over in West Jordan and Nagoya's teriyaki chicken is great! This one here? Absolutely gross... Now, the chicken was cooked nicely and the presentation was... meh... served on some soggy lettuce and bean sprouts in water. The sauce on the chicken is what ruined it... Absolutely nasty, tangy, and sharp... almost if they had blind bought it at Smith's and dumped it on the chicken... Nagoya's sauce is delectable!!! I usually pour it over my rice it's so good! Here? No way... I literally ate 3 slices of this dish and my stomach started growling... This morning? My stomach is still messed up. Something was wrong with that chicken or sauce... I am very disappointed with their lack of caring about this... I was very kind in telling the server about it. I sure didn't want her to feel bad that I got a gross, inedible dish. The lady's solution? She took 50% off that dish only. How petty! She did not offer another solution, only an apology and a partial discount in something I didn't eat. Sadly guys... I cannot give my blessing on this restaurant 😪. I wanted so badly to have a really nice dinner... It was ruined... oh! And it took them 38min to get that chicken to me. Can you guess the temp of the chicken? Ya... cold... sad, sad, sad... I am so sorry that I cannot report a great experience. So, to summarize this restaurant... I think I'd probably recommend em for sushi 🍣. It was definitely passable... The rice was great! Salad? Meh... Miss soup? Meh... So, at least give em a whirl... I hate sounding like I'm badmouthing a place... The reason for 2 stars was that the rice was awesome and the sushi was decent enough... and out initial experience with our server. Otherwise, they'd get 1🌟 ... Oh, do not order any of their specialty drinks as they are of the powdered variety and just not good😪. Thank you for taking the time to read this reveiew... Hopefully they can improve their teriyaki sauce... no one wants to go out to eat and be served a terrible, nasty, tangy, seemingly store bought sauce... We may try em again, and if things are better... I will definitely review that...

One of the worst experiences dining out that I have had in a while!! The food is decent (nothing special) but the customer service was atrocious. We had a party of 4 & were ignored as others got their orders taken & food served. We weren't given napkins or utensils to eat with & had to flag someone down. Water was only refilled once. People that had arrived after we did were served & finished their meals before we even got ours. We ordered appetizers that we didn't receive until after the main course & the potstickers never even arrived, even AFTER reaching out to a waitress who said she'd bring us a free order.

The desserts were not as advertised (plain cheesecake but came out covered in syrup.) When my friend waited over 20 minutes for her free potstickers AFTER the meal was already finished, she asked to speak to a manger. Their response was to ignore her & say that 'Everyone arrived at the same time.' And when she continued asking for a manager they literally walked away from her mid- sentence.

I will never be coming back. I don't know if this treatment was because our party was a group of queer women or because two party members are women of color. They didn't appear short staffed & the restaurant wasn't busy.

Maybe they should put a No Queers, No Blacks, No Latin@s sign...
