I should probably gatekeep this place, but I can’t resist sharing such an incredible experience. I visited on a mild March Friday afternoon with my girlfriend for her birthday, and I can’t say enough good things about it. From the moment we arrived until the time we left, everything was fantastic.
We pulled in about five minutes early—it’s hard to miss the signs—and were greeted by the most adorable Australian Cattle Dog, who promptly let Ed know we had arrived. We entered the gate where the horses are kept and met Ed, who genuinely took the time to get to know us. My girlfriend has owned and competed with horses her whole life, while I hadn’t been on one in over 15 years. After a quick lesson so Ed could assess our skills, the three of us headed out to the trails.
Ed’s property borders state land, giving access to miles of breathtaking trails. Even if you return multiple times, you’re unlikely to see the same scenery twice. The horses are exceptionally well cared for and are owned by Ed and his family—unlike many operations where horses are leased for the season.
Ed gave us the option to choose our own adventure: we could either ride through rolling meadows or take a more challenging route through the woods with stream crossings. We opted for the adventurous path, and I’m so glad we did. Even in early spring, before the landscape fully bloomed, the raw beauty of the land was captivating. We rode through everything from open fields and deep streams to thicker brush, spotting deer, beaver habitats, and even fresh bear tracks along the way. Our two horses for the day, Bonbon and Boomerang, handled everything with confidence and ease.
Throughout the ride, Ed captured countless photos and videos of us (in good quality too), preserving memories we’ll treasure forever. It was truly the best money I’ve spent in a very long time, and we can’t wait to go back. I highly recommend...
Read moreThis was one of the best experiences we have ever had. Ed (Owner) was friendly, inviting, welcoming and made us feel very comfortable with horses. He took the time with each person in our party to introduce them to the horse and to be sure we were ready and good to go for a wonderful experience. Ed was very knowledgeable, he comes from a fifth generation of horse trainers. Horses are world championships tournaments horses, very healthy, and in great shape.
We selected the two hour ride and it really was incredible. We crossed a field of beautiful yellow, purple and white flowers, went through refreshing rivers, and epic woods. Serene Horse Ranch was surrounded by several National Parks, the trails were majestic. There was so much to experience, by the end we felt one with our horses. My wife wanted to take her horse home, lol.
We highly recommend Serene Horse Ranch and definitely plan to return with friends. Thanks Ed for such a...
Read moreI have known Ed Diaz for about 10 years now and we had 7 horses boarded at his ranch. Ed is absolutely amazing with giving riding lessons and he is in my book, one of the top horse trainers. He has great patience and knowledge. Ed will go out of his way to help you with whatever you need. Since times got tough, we no longer have anymore horses but I now have a son of my own and we just started mini lessons with Ed since he is only two. Ed was absolutely great with him and was able to keep calm while riding. By the end of the lesson my son was so happy and didn't want to leave Eds side. I look forward to purchasing another horse in the future and boarding it at Serene Horse Ranch. Also, if you are ever looking to just go on a trail ride, I highly suggest to contact Ed! The trails and scenery is absolutely beautiful. The best was when we used to ride the horses to the Walpack Inn for lunch. I wish I could give Serene Horse Ranch more stars but it...
