A beautiful park for kids, parents, picnics, BBQs, hiking, biking, walking the dogs or for seeking peace and quiet away from the city. Some people say the homeless there are a problem, however, my family, friends, & I have never had any problems in the many years we've been going there & have personally witnessed the people without homes taking better care of the park than the visitors who have homes. Santa Barbara has become far too hostile towards people without homes & as lifelong locals, we don't appreciate that attitude of hostility. Let's all keep Santa Barbara the easy going and all people inclusive place that's been so attractive to world travelers for years to come :)

Beautiful park. Lots of boulders for the kids to climb. Good playground. Picnic tables with BBQS, clean tables, clean restrooms, fairly quiet. Beautiful trees, next to Mission Creek which is dry most of the time, only runs during rainy days. Close proximity to the Mission and natural history museum. Parking is limited, but not usually a problem unless it's a holiday weekend or there is a large group in the one reservable area. Definitely a favorite in my family.

What can I say? Running water always calms my soul. Beautiful park with lots of shade. Tons of oak trees. I did notice a couple homeless men at a couple of different picnic tables sitting by themselves. But sadly that seems the case everywhere these days. But seem to be safe anyways. Lots of friendly people as well.

I love this park it's kind of hidden in Mission Canyon. There are picnic tables, BBQ pits, bathrooms are handicapped accessable and clean. There is a running creek, trails to hike, lots of old trees that provide shade. It has a playground. You can watch the squirrels climb the trees and if you look up at the sky you might see a Red Tail Hawk or a Peregrine Falcon flying by with a mob of crows chasing both of them!!

It's about 1 block away from Santa Barbara's Old Mission and across the street from Santa Barbara's Museum of...

Lovely park, with a clean public restroom, plenty of tables for eating outdoors, and a decent sized kids play area. Note that it is MUCH smaller than it appears in the photos - and is suitable for a picnic, but it is very small and not big enough for a hike. There is also NO water in the rocky "river bed" - just standing algae. So, there are no rapidly flowing streams as in the photos, at least during August. However, the abundance of large bolders and rocks is pretty cool, and make for some nice...
