From the advertisement of a platinum party package, I was under the impression the host would be handling and running the party. Instead it was left to me to run, I forgot to take key photos of my son's birthday party and just overall enjoy the day with my son.
We couldn't check in to our party room until 1pm instead of the 12:30pm I was told I could start moving decorations for our party. Guests started showing up and I'm trying to decorate and hand out their arcade cards at the same time. Stressful....
She also didn't communicate very well. I thought we were still waiting for stuff when in fact they were already at the food table.
Also when we were moved to a new location, I had to figure out the place to move our party to. The host did minimum hosting compared to what the advertisement says. She packed and brought the food out but forgot to bring out cups and ranch dressing for my guests. We ended up with almost all of the veggie tray as leftovers because guests weren't eating it. I had not realized she didn't put out ranch dressing or dipping sauce...sigh...help please.
Atleast she got us the goodie bags after I asked about it since the package changed since I booked.
We probably won't buy a party package again since we're pretty much doing most of the work anyway. All in all, it wasn't what I was expecting for paying almost $800 for food, games and space. There's really no coordination done by the host including group events around the park like the ad made it sound like there would be. I had to do all the wrangling. Just be prepared to not really enjoy the day.
The venue is great because it offers a lot of things to do for the kids but the party package leaves a lot to the imagination. I did tip her well because I'm giving her the benefit of a doubt, that it's the establishment who didn't train her or hire the right people to do the hosting.
If your child wants to hold their party here, I recommend just finding an area of picnic tables and reserving them and then buying food for your party ala carte and getting game cards/paying for entrance for your group if it's a birthday. We paid way too much for the party package and my host didn't really help out much except to ask me when the food should come out and packed it up for me to move us out of...
Read moreBoomers in SM has sadly gone down hill. My gf and I wasted our money trying to play every single racing game there 2 player co-op together, and every single game either had 2 identical machines next to eachother that we bought in to, only to discover they weren't linked in any way and we can only play identical seperate games against seperate A.I., OR the games that had co-op capability, literally all of them one of the machines card reader was broken, and after we bought in on one with a card swipe, it did not work on the other. No refunds. So then we thought we would have some fun playing some ticketed games. These games last typically less than one minute for $1 to $1.50 usually per person per game. After I spent over $20 on ticket games and racked up a whopping 179 tickets, we found most of their prizes- very small and cheap toys mind you- were 1500 tickets plus. At least for 179 tickets and $20+ I was able to earn myself a Chinese Finger Trap, which allowed me the ability to keep feeling screwed, even after I left Boomers... however I will say the staff at the customer counter, the food court, and in the batting cage, were extremely nice and helpful... 0 stars for broken games and rip-off ticket value; but 5 stars for customer service...
Read moreI honestly had a great experience here. I took a couple of friends here to kill some time with high hopes of having fun. I'm happy to say I had a blast. I was able to try the baseball section they have on the right side when entering the area. The go karts were something I exactly imagined how it would feel. The mini golf courses were creative but not too extreme. The mini golf courses were fun overall. The reason why I give 4 starts is because of how many things are outdated. For example, many of the mini golf courses have inconveniences that make the play area a little annoying. There were holes/dips that ruined the game. On courses that introduce the pipe system, the golf balls tend to get stuck. The pathing of the courses is a little confusing for new players. Fortunately, I remembered that half of the back area is course one, and the other is course two. There is so much potential for being a 10 out of 10 mini golf place, but I do not hear or see any plans for a massive refurbishment. Overall, even with the many inconveniences, we still had a lot of fun. Hopefully, on my next visit, I can try out the foods Boomers...
