Hampton Inn & Suites Santa Maria is relatively newest (or remodeled) so the property is clean. I got a suite, 2 queen beds and a pull-out sofa bed, for a family of six (2 adults & 4 kids). The room was spacious for the 6 of us, and it was clean. The bathroom has toletries (shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, and lotion that all smelled nice). The property has a good hot breakfast buffet that included oatmeal, cereal, muffins, yogurt, bread, bagel, eggs (scramble or omlette style that switches each day), sausage or bacon, and the highlight was the fresh waffle maker. The hotel has an indoor pool that was warm and a good addition to use during the winter weather. The property is about 40 minutes from SLO and 40 minutes from Solvang. It was the right location in central CA for my family to visit Morro Bay, SLO, Pismo Beach, and Solvang. There were quite a few families staying here so it's a family/kids-friendly hotel. Lots of free parking spaces. My only complaint was that our room wasn't cleaned each day. I was told by front desk that our room gets cleaned each day. However, our room was only "cleaned" by giving us new towels and trash taken out one time during our 4 nights stay. It would've been nice to at least get our trash taken out each day. There were no extra trash bags that we could've done it ourselves. Overall, I would stay at this hotel again for the clean room, free hot breakfast,...
Read moreThis place is OK. Just OK. The walls and ceilings are thin. We could hear the people in the room next to us.
We were on the second floor and the people above us seemed to be stomping. Then, I was on the 1st floor and heard people stomping above. I don't think that giants were walking around this hotel, I think that the construction was poor.
The cleaning staff shine. They do a great job and are very polite.
There is plenty of parking here. Lots of room for trucks, RVs, and charging stations for electric vehicles.
The charging stations are from ChargePoint and is simple if you have the app. We toured the central coast for a few days and used this hotel and charger as our home base. It worked out OK. There is a black Tesla that parked in the charging spot between 7pm and 7am. It's strange that it was there every night but was never plugged in. It was sometimes in the spot next to the charger and as soon as we finished charging and moved our car, it was moved back to the charging spot. I'm not sure if it is someone who works there, but someone was definitely monitoring the spot. The strange thing is, they NEVER charged the car, but they parked in the charging spot.
This hotel is ok. No restaurant or...
Read moreWhile staying at this Hotel my bicycle was stolen. It was locked inside my truck. I found out from the Santa Maria Police Dept. when I call them to file a report that they are called to this Hotel often. There is a homless camp down in the river bed down the street. I believe the hotel should have let me no of this and I would have brought the bike inside. The staff was not helpful at all. The parking lot is not patrolled. The Holiday Inn across the street has there parking lot patrolled all night I found this out after this happened. I would never stay there again, it is just not a safe area near the riverbed. This is my opinion you decide for yourself. I do not like to use the word hate but one star is all I will give. Safety is a very important factor to me when traveling. I am very disappointed with this hotel and I would not recommend staying there. You decide for yourself, there are other options in Santa Maria. My review has gotten 1149 views with one ❤️ I hope I am...
