Thank you Frederique and Charles for your continued excellence. The City Garage performance of Pinter's Betrayal is so tight, with intensive intimacies and ghastly morality. Director Frederique Michel, who is pictured with Pinter in the publication flyer (!), explained that Betrayal is a love story. I had thought it a lust story, but then again what do I know?

Troy Dunn is pitch perfect as the fooled lover, David Frank is quite insidious as the cuckolded husband, Angela Beyer wears her red dress proudly, as the center of this self-destructive menage a trois. Was really disappointed that City Garage Theater did not include a content warning prior to the show or purchasing tickets for the very graphic “group rape” scene in the play that I watched. It made me extremely uncomfortable and if I had known about this scene beforehand, I would have elected not to watch this play.

I shouldn’t have to be familiar with every scene of the play before viewing—this is something that a theater should share with audience...
