Before leaving we received this parking violation. This is ridiculous. The guest pass was clearly visible and on the rear view mirror with the print facing outwards. Meanwhile we saw one vehicle in a “No Parking” spot, and at least 2 vehicles parked in reverse when there are clear signs saying “don’t back in” but I didn’t see any of these notices on THOSE vehicles. Absolutely ridiculous. Parking is not the greatest. Especially if you arrive later in the day. The service was great! Very friendly and helpful. The room was fine (the bathroom door didn’t lock but not a huge deal). The bathroom flush was quite loud. Otherwise clean and comfortable. We heard sirens every night, and could hear everyone in the halls and banging from the rooms next door so if you’re looking for a quiet peaceful stay, this may not be it. If you have a compact vehicle (or no vehicle) and noise is of no concern, I may recommend this place.

This hotel is located on Santa Monica Boulevard but is 20 blocks (a 30 minutes walk) from the Pier. The walk isn’t attractive either, as it’s dominated by car sales rooms. Breakfast is a sugar-packed ‘grab bag’, due to the hotel’s interpretation of COVID-19 restrictions (which are the most draconian of all the Californian hotels visited). The room was quiet, large, and well-appointed. The Receptionist was really friendly and helpful. The underground car park ($15 per night) was well worth it but the overall cost of the room was high. Enjoyed the restaurant and service next door (thanks, Rodrigo). Overall I’d rate it as 3-star ‘average’.

I can’t remember staff looking angry at me for saying “good morning”. Other staff members were similarly grumpy and clearly didn’t like working there. Weird, because they are in the hospitality industry.||The breakfast is all packaged garbage like sugary processed oatmeal, a dirty pancake apparatus, packaged muffins. I was flabbergasted seeing what they served guests. And this in Santa Monica, California, in 2024!||The rooms look very dated and the airconditioning is pointed straight at the bed, ideal for getting a cold. The room wasn’t properly cleaned. |Weirdly enough the bed was good - such a positive surprise in an otherwise disappointing hotel. ||The room isn’t suitable for working. The table is small and the power outlet was not working, with my laptop stuck in a weird angle because of a coffee machine right behind it. ||One elevator was broken and people were queuing up at the remaining one which was terribly slow. I ended up having to walk around the back of the hotel and take the outdoor stairway. Not a problem if I didn’t have to take it 8 to 10 times a day with meeting in the neighborhood. ||And as a cherry on top they charged my credit card while charging my company card for the same amount. I’m still in the process of getting it back. Perhaps the company got declined, who knows, but at checkout you should communicate these issues rather than me having to find it out back at home. Even after 3 expensive international calls they haven’t even taken the time to email or call back to confirm or deny anything. That adds up what feels like shady business practices, even if...

As a working professional and someone that understands when there is a conflict with customer service I have to say, I didn’t appreciate the treatment I received by the “manager of sales” at this hotel.

Parking was an issue one day, I was told by someone at the front desk that If I couldn’t find parking I could park in this particular area. So I did. I also noticed another truck would park in this same area everyday as well. One day, an older female who identified herself as “the manager of sales” approach my car and spoke to me in the most patronizing condescending demeanor! I couldn’t believe her tone and attitude towards me especially since she was supposed to be a manager and maintain a certain level of professionalism. I was on the phone with MY employer and even she noticed the DISRESPECTFUL way she spoke to me. I am an adult and she treated me as if I was a child who did something bad. Even though one of her employees specifically told me I could park in that parking space. Sometimes it’s not what you say but it’s how you say it. She could’ve respectfully said “I’m sorry, you can’t park here” and that is fine, I would gladly move. But she continued to BARATE me asking me all of these questions. Questioning if I stayed at the hotel even though I told her I was a guest. No one deserves to be treated like how she treated me especially customers.

I risk my life everyday working with sick Covid patients. I didn’t deserve that kind of treatment that was shown to me during my stay...

I called this morning very politely, very respectful. The manager that is on duty is highly disrespectful and rude. Im not sure how she got the position she has. She cut me off multiple times couldn’t even get a word out, very dismissing when I began to tell her how rude she was being she got upset and hung the phone up. I called back I asked for her name to make a complaint she said she was going to call the police on someone that’s on the phone not sure how she thought that was going to work and then hung up once again once I asked what was her name to report her. If you really believe people like her are gonna keep bringing guest back you’re fooled. During my stay she called the room accused me of smoking in the rooms and instead of asking. Her time frame was completely off, wasn’t even at the hotel at the time, and then when I confronted her about it she then did it again in my face accusing me not realizing that’s what she was doing. I told her I too work in a hotel and would never disrespect a hotel like that. Once she realized what I said that I also worked at a hotel and that she couldn’t just say anything to me. She switched up her whole tune so it just makes me wonder who else is she lying too about hotel policies and rules? And she definitely abuses her authority threatening to call the police because you don't know how to handle a heated conversation, it is all apart of customer service. Maybe some new...
