If you're searching for a slice of paradise, look no further than Grayton Beach State Park. Located in the heart of the Gulf Coast, this park offers a unique and stunning blend of natural beauty, wildlife, and outdoor activities that make it a must-visit destination for nature enthusiasts.

First and foremost, the beach is simply breathtaking. The sand is powdery soft and white, and the water is crystal clear with shades of blue that will leave you mesmerized. Whether you're swimming, sunbathing, or just strolling along the shore, the beach at Grayton Beach State Park is a feast for the senses.

But the park has much more to offer than just the beach. The hiking trails are a great way to explore the park's diverse ecosystem, which includes towering sand dunes, freshwater lakes, and marshes teeming with wildlife. You might spot a variety of bird species, turtles, or even the occasional deer or alligator.

Camping is also available within the park, with both RV and tent sites available. The sites are well-maintained, and the facilities are clean and modern. There are also picnic areas and pavilions for those who want to enjoy a meal in the shade.

One of the best things about Grayton Beach State Park is that it's never overcrowded. Despite its beauty and popularity, the park's size and location make it feel like a secluded oasis. Whether you're looking for a quiet escape or an active adventure, you'll find it here.

In conclusion, Grayton Beach State Park is an absolute gem of the Gulf Coast. With its pristine beach, diverse ecosystem, and ample opportunities for outdoor recreation, it's a must-visit destination for anyone who loves nature and the great outdoors. So pack your sunscreen, binoculars, and sense of adventure, and make your way to Grayton Beach State Park. You...

Grayton Beach State Park is truly one of Florida’s finest treasures—and we feel lucky to have it right in our backyard. As longtime locals, we’ve done it all here over the years: hiked the scenic trails, paddled across Western Lake, camped under the stars, and stayed in the cozy cabins during the 30A Songwriters Festival in January. The cabins are one of our favorite ways to enjoy the park—perfectly positioned along 30A, simple but comfortable, and a short walk to the beach. You get everything you need without the high price tag of nearby rentals, making it a fantastic and affordable way to enjoy the area.

The beach itself is world-class—literally. With its powdery white sand and emerald waters, Grayton Beach has been ranked among the top beaches in the U.S. by Dr. Beach and others multiple times. It’s the kind of place that takes your breath away, whether it’s your first visit or your fiftieth.

We’ve brought family from out of state here just to experience it—it’s that special. On calm days, we love to paddleboard along the shoreline, and for those into diving, the Underwater Museum of Art (UMA) just offshore adds a truly unique experience you won’t find at most state parks. Sculptures become reef habitat, and diving there combines art, conservation, and adventure all in one.

Whether you’re here for recreation or relaxation, Grayton Beach State Park offers a rare mix of natural beauty, peace, and accessibility. It’s one of the most unforgettable spots on the Gulf Coast—and a place we’ll keep coming back to for...

Recently had a 8-day visit; we cut it short by a day due to an approaching storm. We were in the back section, which had recently gone through some renovations. Our site was concrete while a number of others were gravel. Important to know, depending on your rig and setup needs. We were very close the bathhouse - there are two at this park and each is equipped with washer/dryers. Our bathhouse was clean and everything was serviceable. The park host was nearby and stopped on the first day and introduced himself and said if we needed anything to let him know. When we parked, our picnic table was stuck back in the trees so we moved it out to the concrete pad, but then had to battle brush and low hanging limbs to get to our fire ring. It definitely wasn't convenient to use. Short walk to the beautiful beach, which during our stay was never crowded. Quite a number of nearby restaurants within an easy bike ride; if you brought bikes. If you didn't and wanted to rent some, several nearby shops will actually delivery to your site. The front gate staff were helpful and there are a number of trinket items advertising Grayton park to buy. Ice and firewood are normally available, but during our stay firewood was never available. However, a short drive down the road to Publix solved the problem. There is no wifi or cable tv and while we had three bars on our iphones using Verizon, it wasn't strong enough to stream...

Adventure in paradise? Yes please! I had the most amazing time on my recent visit to South Walton, FL. Check out my 4 day itinerary, where to stay, where to play, and where to eat 👇 WHERE to stay: go all out at @campcreek.inn. Pool with a water slide and lazy river, gold, tennis courts, a playground, and a teen lounge. A quiet with all the perks but a much welcomed quieter vibe. Day 1- 🏡 Check in at @campcreek.inn 💦 Relax by the pool, 🥩Dinner @seagarsprimesteaks for the best steak dinner you’ve ever had. 🏖️ Head to the beach to see maybe the best sunset you’ve ever seen. Day 2- ☕️ Coffee and breakfast at @blackbearbreadco (the avocado toast is amazing!) 🚲 Rent a beach cruiser and bike the (flat!) Timpochee Trail. 🍔 Lunch at @idyllhoundproper, try ALL of their appetizers and check out the cool artwork. 🏝️ Visit the coastal dune lakes, a VERY special geological feature, they only exist in 5 places in the world! 🍹 Stop into @30adistillingco for a distillery tour and a locally distilled cocktail, 🥘Gourmet dinner at @Roux30A. Six courses of absolute perfection! Day 3- ☕️Breakfast at @rawandjuicyalysbeach. They have a traditional Costa Rican breakfast that you’ve GOT to try. ⛲️Morning walk around Alys Beach, where it looks like you stepped into a small town in Greece. 🖼️ Get your art fix (and maybe find some artwork to decorate that beach house you now definitely need?) at @justingaffrey_gallery (Textured nature and landscape art) @andysaczynski (beachy art vibe with painted surfboards and musical inspirations) @adaroart for fun colors and a whimsical vibe. If you’re lucky you’ll get to meet their dog and pet OPPOSSOM 🤯 🦐Have lunch at the @thebigchill_30a food market. The Buffalo popcorn shrimp and key lime pie were fantastic! 🏄‍♀️Head to Grayton Beach State Park for a hike, rent a paddleboard or get some beach time. 🐟 Dinner at @campcreekinn. Be sure to try the locally caught fish. Day 4- ☕️ Breakfast and check out at @campcreek.inn. 🛍️Head to Rosemary Beach, where it feels like you’ve stepped into a little European town, and do some shopping. ✈️Head home and plan your next trip! hosted by @southwalton, #southwalton, #visitflorida

Less traffic, less people, that means more time enjoying the beach, win. . . What are you up to this weekend? Bonus tip! Find a 4WD beach if you have a vehicle that can handle it. I finally got rid of my minivan for an AWD SUV and being able to drive in the beach is AMAZING! No more worrying about parking and lugging around all my stuff. Plus 4WD beaches will typically be less crowded and are dog friendly. ——————————————————————— We Chose Adventures is an outdoor family that downsized to prioritize family adventures.
