Chiringo was an awesome beachside experience that was not planned. I had the shrimp tacos, and they were some of the best I have ever had. The place itself was also super cool and vibey. Overall, Chiringo is a nearly perfect example of a beachside bar/grill.
I had the shrimp tacos, and like I said- probably the best I have ever had. The shrimp was huge and fresh, the jalapeños were crisp, and the pickled onions were the perfect touch that I had no idea I was looking for. I also had a bite of the bbq bowl, and it was solid. The tater tots were way too crispy for me, but it could have just been a bad batch. I also had a fish taco that another person ordered, and it was delicious as well.
Cost wise, it was alright. I didn't happen to check what cocktails were running at, but the shrimp tacos were a little pricey in my opinion. I think it was around 5$ per taco, but they were delicious, and it was super fresh.
The facilities were super cool. The bar downstairs was nicely done, and open facing the ocean. It seemed pretty clean. The bathroom was also spacious and clean. The real winner, though, was the upstairs. They have a turf-floored room with garage door walls that is a really cool open concept for an upstairs. Super nice establishment with a memorable atmosphere.
Overall, Chiringo was one of my favorite places I have been on a beach. I would highly suggest the shrimp tacos, and also want to come back for some night time oceanside drinking!

Read moreWorst meals of the entire vacation. We decided to eat here due to the raving reviews of the gluten free fried shrimp and the lobster rolls.
I lied to our waiter when he asked if everything was good. I should have let him know how pathetic the meal was but they were short staffed and had very few waiters downstairs. I felt bad. Instead we tipped him well and we’re out $75 for the worst (by far) meal of our entire vacation.
Guacamole and chips. Awful. Chips had a taste I couldn’t figure out. Seasoned with something yet tasted stale too. The guacamole was barely mixed up, basically an avocado in a bowl with some seasoning on it then chopped a few times. Worst we have ever had. That was our first sign this was a bad idea.
The lobster roll. What. A. Joke. This was like $28 and was the most bland, tasteless pile of lobster on a hot dog bun. I ate it because I was hungry. I should have sent it back and trusted another reviewer who also said the same thing.
The fries were not crispy, just soggy fries that were just “ok”.
The gluten free fried shrimp that we really came for due to all of the reviews and a gluten allergy - nothing special whatsoever. Edible but kind of fishy tasting. Not crispy at all. Paired next to soggy fries.
The sweet tea. Tasted like water with a drip of tea and a dash of sugar.
They failed miserably on every single dish they served us and then we got the honor of paying for it. I should have said something but again, I just felt bad for the waiter busing like 20 tables by himself.
There are SO MANY better places to eat around there, don’t make the same mistake....
Read moreWow!! What an incredible experience this cozy, eccentric restaurant brought us?! We had the absolute pleasure of staying next door for a whole week, and from the very first impression, to our final goodbyes tonight, our expectations have been beyond exceeded!!
Environment vibes: totally chill and beachy with a splash of local charm
Food and drinks : we tried everything on the menu !! Yeah it’s that good!!! Our fave items were the snapper dip(an absolutely treasure!), fish tacos, and their quinoa power bowls!!! As far as the drinks go, everyone must have a margarita (Baxter makes the With a little magic), and the best drink on this planet “THE LANCHO”!!!!!!!! Great casual dining options for any carnivore or vegetarian!!
THE STAFF❤️- this crew created the ultimate dining experience for us! From the very first time we stepped in and met Tyler (bar master) and Andy(owner) we knew we were in great hands! We feel so honored to have met most of the crew, HANNAH, JOE-JOE, BAXTER, BEN, MERMAID, MARY, ANNA, And Jenny!!! They not only helped us explore the menu and pick out great things we would enjoy but also helped us explore the city and truly made our experience extraordinary!!They each made us feel sooo at home and special every time we walked through the door! I have a special place in my heart for this crew and wish them soo much love and success!
Overall message- if you want the best experience go here//// all of the other places are just not as vibey and cool!
