Living in California, there is a lot of beautiful scenery, nature, and architecture to enjoy, and we looked at over a dozen venues before we found Montalvo. It quickly became our favorite, and couldn't have been a more perfect place for our wedding day.
Montalvo has several options for different elements of your wedding, so each part of the event can have a different view and feel while avoiding the logistical nightmares of moving people from one venue to another. We had our ceremony in the Oval Garden; our cocktail hour in the Spanish Courtyard; dinner on the Front Veranda; and dancing and reception throughout the Main Hall, Library, and indoor spaces of the Villa. Not to mention the recently renovated bridal and groom suites upstairs... Villa Montalvo had perfect spaces for our day to thrive. To this day, many months later, guests and family are still telling us about how beautiful everything was. We're still impressed! We can't wait to find excuses to go back, even if just to have picnics on the Great Lawn.
Even as we started the planning process for our wedding during a pandemic, Montalvo stuck with us all the way and helped deliver on an absolute dream day. Our wedding day was long and it had a lot of moving parts, and there's plenty of space for all of it to happen smoothly.
Working with Bri was a complete joy! She's so responsive, professional, generous, and informative. She made it so easy for our vendors to execute on a fairly complex wedding day - we had 6 different food vendors alone. She helped us and our vendors work through a lot of logistical and timing issues to turn our wedding day into a perfect dream. What's more, our photographer broke her ankle the morning of our wedding and Bri rushed to a CVS to get her first aid supplies (our photographer chose to stay and shoot on a broken ankle - insane!) and at the end of the night, she even offered to drive our photographer back to her hotel - talk about above and beyond!!
After our wedding, 100% of our vendors said that working with Bri was a dream and that she really busted butt all day for us and them!
We can't recommend enough that you give Bri a call for your...
Read moreI highly recommend Villa Montalvo. The trail here is not monotonous, and you won't feel bored during the hiking. You can overlook the city at the peak point, see the tall redwood trees, listen to the gurgling water, and take a rest in the garden. There are 4 parking lots, one of which may be closed to the public due to private activities or events, but you won’t worry about finding a parking space. There is a Montalvo Arts Center in front of the lawn, which sometimes has workshops and other activities (private events). There are 3 parking lots (lots 2-4) and gardens around the lawn, which have a variety of plants with interesting names. The sculptures everywhere make this world more artistic and full of life. On the way here, you can also enjoy the big mansions in the mountains along the way. The trail has shade and sun, which is also suitable for summer.
