If I could give this facility less than one star I would. I paused my membership because I was not able to afford it for a few months. Pausing my membership was a hassle enough as no-one got back to me and did not seem to know how to handle the process. Secondly, once my membership was "paused" I was still drafted a mystery $50.00 fee. I do not understand all of these administrative fees and it would have been nice to have been told I could expect this to come out of my checking account even with a paused membership. I called and spoke to David who proceeded to read me the entire rental agreement verbatim rather react with good customer service as I was clearly upset $50.00 was unexpectedly drafted from my account. I then spoke to a Nick who explained he was the district manager? Nick was so incredibly rude and asked if I had the ability to read stating " the 50.00 fee is in the print in your memerhips freeze clearly you cannot read." I spoke to 3 people three different times not one indicated I would have a $50.00 fee and now I am being shamed because I did not read the fine print. Keep in mind I have not used my gym membership one time and all I asked for was the $50.00 to be refunded. I am shocked these people actually have jobs based on their communication practices. Please do not join this gym they will continue to charge you, apply hidden fees and berate and humiliate you personally when you ask for some help. Please go elsewhere. Per the owners reply, his so called district manager did not offer any solutions at all rather he asked me three times if I knew how to read. Therefore I got upset and reiterated my stance on this poorly run facility. Based on my experiences managers and employees should be able to communicate rather than read a script or pop off when speaking to someone who didn't understand why they were billed again for another mystery fee. Based on other reviews and FB reviews communication and billing seems to be a reoccurring issue....
Read moreIf you join here for daily gym use only, you won’t be a member, you’ll be a number.
BUT If you’re going for PT, go to Chris, he is the best part of the club, by far.
Here are considerations if you don’t want training from Chris and are wanting to choose this club for daily exercise:
There are free weights, but not many. The space is small, dull, and unenergetic. Parking is limited.
Staff turnover is high and new ppl are excuses for mistakes, oversights, errors and other poor member experiences.
If you need help, the staff says they will do something, but then they don’t do it, it’s been a theme.
There is no accountability from the local or corporate level, likely because the owner is never there and seems very uninvolved. Former employees have spoken negatively about this individual being a “jerk”. I think that trickles down here.
Anytime Fitness considers their contracts to be very stringent, so before you sign that iPad you better commit to working out on the same lame machines for a year, OR they will hold it over your head like it’s a mortgage agreement! **see other reviews on this topic
Recommendation: go to Club SAR up the road for $100/year!
They have 5X the space, the people actually care about your experience, the equipment is better and more diverse, the music is more tolerable, they even have a boxing ring and basketball court, for 20% of the Anytime Fitness price.
BEST PART - you’re a human there! Not just a $50/mo check to help a big brand rebound...
Read moreIf there was a way to give no stars that would be the rating. I signed a 1 year contract to slowly find out that they have been collecting on a month to month basis since that contract expired. They should have a way to see when people aren't coming into the gym to use such equipment and cancel their membership or reach out to such person to see if they want to continue with their services, especially when having to cough up $40+/month. Then when I go in to "officially" cancel my membership the guy at the counter tells me that there is no way to get a refund but he will "waive" the 30 day notice fee for cancellation of the contract when after the 1 year it voids into a month to month payment. I'm not trying to get the full refund for when I haven't been in the gym but just this past months amount. If a manager or someone higher up see's this, please reach out. Paying such a high price for such a small gym should have some sort of benefits to its customers. Wouldn't have such issues at Esporta or EOS, because they take care of their people. Got a free month after explaining to the intake person at EOS fitness after explaining what I had to go...
