I'm always looking for a place to sit in half sun half shade on a table to do more of my hobby, Wood Carving. Since becoming Disabled, I miss building homes working w wood. So I started teaching myself to carve wood/whistling etc. I enjoy making Indian Talking Sticks.. I don't for fun mostly, sell for around $10-$20 ea. Branch of Red Cedar or other types I hand carve different designs into the woods which people love.. It's said if someone talks to much in your family, or at dinner table,, Who ever holds the Talking stick gets to speak, about what's on their mind or or the days events. When finished talking they pass the stick to person next to them. This way EVERYONE gets speak as others have to remain quiet listening to the speaker. Read moreI use this rest stop a decent amount.. it's always very clean and it is adorable on the inside! There are tons of brochures for things to do in New Hampsh and usually a couple [incredibly nice and helpful] folks behind an information desk. It's also got a lottery machine, go nuts!

So I had to deduct half a star on that. The last half star reduction is due to the horrible red mulch used outside... Rake that sh** up and seed bomb it with a meadow mix. You won't have to do nearly as much maintenance as you do rn with the red mulch. Not to mention, dogs frequent this rest stop and most dyed mulches (especially the reds) can cause...
Read moreExcellent place to relax, nap, cook meal outside on picnic tables, bathroom 24/7. Today I had flat tire there, a man from Maine saw me struggling, he helped me tremendously. What a decent man. There were two men from NH DOT there, I asked them if they have a jack I could borrow so I could change my tire they said we don't have jacks on our trucks we don't have any way to change a tire,, now this is the New Hampshire department of transportation if they don't have a jack on their trucks something's wrong...... Though he did have a 2x6 piece of wood and we use that under the jack the man from Maine had to lift it that extra couple inches we needed. I thank the man from Maine & the guy from DOT for lending us the 2' piece...
