My recent visit to Lincoln Park left me deeply disappointed and concerned for the safety of park-goers. I regretfully have to give it a low rating due to the excessive number of off-leash and potentially dangerous dogs roaming freely throughout the park.
Upon entering the park, it quickly became evident that the lack of enforcement regarding leash laws was a serious issue. Numerous dogs were running around without any supervision or restraint from their owners. This created an environment that felt chaotic and unsafe, particularly for individuals who were trying to enjoy the park without the worry of encountering aggressive or unruly dogs.
I witnessed several instances where these off-leash dogs approached other park visitors, causing distress and even creating dangerous situations. The owners seemed indifferent and failed to promptly address their dogs' behavior, further exacerbating the problem. It is crucial for park management to take immediate action in enforcing leash laws and ensuring the safety and enjoyment of all park-goers.
As someone who appreciates the beauty of outdoor spaces, I believe that parks should be a haven for everyone, including families with children and individuals who may have fears or allergies related to dogs. The lack of control over off-leash dogs compromises the overall experience and prevents visitors from fully enjoying the park's amenities.
I strongly urge Lincoln Park's management to prioritize the safety and well-being of its visitors by implementing stricter leash enforcement and increasing monitoring efforts. It is vital that they take proactive measures to address this issue and create a park environment that is welcoming, inclusive, and, above all, safe for all visitors.
In conclusion, my visit to Lincoln Park was marred by the excessive presence of off-leash dogs, which created an environment that felt unsafe and unwelcoming. Until the park takes significant steps to address this problem, I cannot recommend it as a suitable place for families or individuals seeking a peaceful and secure...
Read moreThis is a beautiful urban park in West Seattle along the coast. There are many short trails, recreation areas, playgrounds, and picnic areas that snake though the woods in this small urban park area. You'll see a diverse and surprising selection of coniferous and deciduous trees in this beautiful little city oasis. These include examples of costal redwoods, Douglas firs, western red cedar, western hemlock, beech trees, big leaf maples, alder trees, a few examples of the Pacific madrone tree and many more.
The main trail from the parking lot is paved and will take you down to the beach area and down to Coleman pool. Just past the pool is the one of 5 Seattle area/PNW trolls that is definitely worth seeing. His name is Bruun Idun and you can find more information on him and the others on line.
Overall this park is definitely worth a visit or 3 and I highly recommend it. The city of Seattle has the information you need to know on line specifically about Lincoln park, Coleman pool, and Bruun Idun the troll. It's worth it to take a few minutes and go through it before your visit to enhance...
Read moreTrails, directions to restrooms poorly marked. Looking for troll. Didn’t find but I’m sure there must have been a better way than sliding down a social trail on my bottom. No directions, it is a lovely place to get lost. My husband was frustrated at lack of signage and went to car. Got a picture of a lovely wedding party. Did not hike back thru trails, afraid I’d get lost. ( I had never been to that area. From out of state.) Headed direction for closest parking lot to get my bearings. I’m older, so it this sounds ridiculous but I did see an 11 year old having difficulty walking back up a trail. At least 3 other people were struggling as well, one woman was red in the face and said she had no idea where she was (at that point I just needed a restroom! ) She pointed in the direction she thought it was and advised a bush instead I took that trail and it turned into a social trail. Really, how hard are a couple directional maps or arrows to put up? I’m just not up for that kind...
