This park is ok. It. Feels a bit isolated. There's a big, sloped area where people run their dogs. There's not much else to do there, in the open field. Parking is very limited. There's water access, though, to cool down or to launch small watercraft. But theres big boulders you have to negotiate to get to the water, making it a challenge with a kayak. The plus is that the part of thr lake this gives you access to is a pretty calm spot.

Plain park with some lake front. Not really a beach, but you can wade or put in with a paddle board. People take their dogs here and sometimes have parties. One or two benches, no pavilion or covered area. Parking is pretty minimal and signs warn of theft. It's not amazing, but it's generally quiet enough and is adequate for the locals. Nice view of Mount Rainier when conditions permit.

There's a few spots to access the water for kayaking/ paddleboarding/ swimming here. It's a VERY nicely protected part of Lake WA to do so. It's only half a mile by water to reach Seward Park. It's not a big open access to the water. There are a few small tree breaks.

Parking is atrocious and nearly impossible if you're not there way early or late.

I don't think it's a safe spot for someone to be alone here, down by the water. The water can be accessed by 2 sides of the park. Imagine a U shape, where the bottom of the letter would be the water. If a never do well were to come past when you're there alone, you would be at their mercy.

For botany enthusiasts- there is a (now) rare tree in this park that used to be all over the Seattle area before... people. I can't remember the name, but I once met a naturalist from the City of Bellevue who was there putting some of the seeds in a protective netting to keep the...

great park, very primitive but has a lot to offer for what it is. Probably the biggest asset is the very large open grass field, not very flat but still excellent for any activity. The beach is still very natural but has some nice pebble beaches, no lifeguards. As others stated, not much parking but this place is off the main roads so not many know about it and it usually isn't busy, maybe it's the ghost stories that keep people away. The re is some great history here and a little of it is chronicled in signs around the park. Believe what you will about all the ongoings from when there was the insane asylum here, but don't let it keep you from making a visit(maybe not...
