I would like to take a moment to express my concerns regarding the care I received from Luis C.Grau, MD and his staff. 8/1/2024,Based on my experience, I would rate their services as a 0 out of 10 and, unfortunately, cannot recommend either him or the hospital for surgical procedures.

On the day of my operation, I felt a bit rushed and wanted to share my concerns with Dr. Grau. I expressed that I felt we were moving too quickly and that I was uncomfortable with how things were progressing. On Wednesday, I was informed that my insurance company had approved the surgery through my workers' compensation case. To my surprise, Dr. Grau scheduled the operation for that Friday, which left me with very little time to prepare mentally and physically for such a significant procedure.

This short notice heightened my anxiety, especially since this was my first surgical experience. When I brought these issues up with Dr. Grau, I felt that he did not fully acknowledge my concerns, which left me feeling somewhat unsettled. After discussing my experience with Luis, it seemed that our disagreement may have affected his attitude towards me. I expressed my concerns to Dr. Grau about the rapid pace at which everything was unfolding and conveyed that I was not entirely comfortable with how quickly we were moving forward with the operation. I arrived at the hospital at 10 AM and waited until 5 PM for the procedure to begin. I was highly upset at Luis for having me there at 10 AM. I had not eaten all day I have gastritis and still had to wait till 5 PM for surgery.

To make matters worse, I learned that the surgery had not been successful and that it may have been performed incorrectly, leaving me with ongoing pain.

Additionally, I found Dr. Grau's attitude concerning, especially regarding his assessment of my mobility following surgery, which he rated at only 25%. This evaluation stands in stark contrast to the opinion provided by another surgeon who specializes in similar procedures, indicating that my mobility is more limited than Dr. Grau suggested. I believe it was retaliation for me voicing my opinion on the surgery.

I feel compelled to advise others to consider alternative options for their medical care. Due to Dr. Grau’s actions, I am now facing the possibility of undergoing surgery again, as I continue to experience significant pain and limitations in mobility. This situation has not only impacted my physical health but has also led to feelings of depression and distress regarding my future well-being.

I strongly recommend seeking care elsewhere rather than consulting with Dr. Luis Grau due to my negative experiences and outcomes related to his treatment approach. Overall, this experience has left me feeling disappointed and frustrated with the level of care provided by Dr. Grau...

If I could give zero stars, I would. We came to this ER in the middle of the night because my husband was experiencing severe, unexplained pain — so intense that he was actively vomiting and writhing in distress. Despite the waiting room being nearly empty (no more than 3–4 patients), we were forced to sit through registration and paperwork while staff watched him suffer. It took over 15 minutes to get him back, an inexcusable delay given the acuity of his condition. Then an additional 10-15 minutes to be seen. Followed by additional time to administer medications and 40 minutes to 1 hour for re-dose between pain medications.

My husband has been battling this pain for some time, undergoing outpatient workups with no resolution. We did not come to the ER lightly. Unfortunately, from the moment we arrived, his complaints were downplayed and dismissed. Classified it as nothing more than GERD or gas pain or IBS. The doctor and nurses were uninterested in actually listening. Despite repeated pleas that his current pain regimen was not working, no one made any effort to adjust or escalate his treatment. Instead, they sent him off for imaging with no explanation, no lab results, no updates, just a cold, conveyor-belt approach to care.

What followed was worse. Despite clearly explaining that this was not a new issue — that he had been worked up extensively as an outpatient and that we had already trialed multiple medications at home — he was brushed off. The team dismissed his pain and proceeded to give him the exact same meds we had already tried, including Tylenol, Toradol, Zofran, Dicyclomine, Maalox, and IV fluids. All of these had failed him at home in their oral form. If this was all the ER was going to offer, what was the point of the visit?

We pressed the call bell multiple times begging for pain control or even basic communication, only for staff to come in, say nothing, and turn off the call light. Not once did they return with medication or meaningful answers. This was not just poor care, it was a complete absence of compassion and clinical judgment.

As a healthcare worker myself, I understand the stress and limitations of emergency medicine. But there is a difference between being busy and being apathetic. This wasn’t an overwhelmed ER or a resource-limited situation. This was simply apathy. No urgency. No empathy. No critical thinking. Just a cold, check-the-box approach to care that failed my husband entirely. What we encountered here was callous indifference. These individuals have no business working in a field that demands both clinical skill and human decency.

If you have the option, please go anywhere else but here.

This facility should reflect hard on what it means to provide emergency care. Because this was not it. Do better. Lives...

This has been quite possibly the worst hospital stay I’ve seen, including dramatic scenes you see in television shows. Went to the ER on a Tuesday after being advised from a doctor to immediately go due to lab results taken at a doctors office. Not only did no one explain anything while in the ER they pushed plenty of drugs without telling us what the medication was. When we inquired what was being given it was brushed off and we weren’t given an answer. Fast forward to Thursday and we have been admitted to the hospital and have seen a doctor TWICE. Getting diagnosed with something new that requires daily maintenance and the doctor hasn’t answered any questions and when I ask to see the doctor we’re told he only works in the morning and he never comes to the room to answer said questions. On top of all of this he then prescribes two medications and when we get the prescriptions there’s 5. Two of which are for blood pressure and cholesterol which we were told all labs were normal (so why were these prescribed?) once again ask the doctor for an explanation at 2pm and we’re told the doctor will come at 7am the next day. If we were to get discharged today we have no clue how to manage this diagnosis and ultimately will end up back at a hospital. I sincerely hope these nurses are getting paid like doctors because they are the ones keeping this hospital afloat. I applaud the nurses for working in conditions that are from the 60s as there is no technology in this hospital. Everything has hand written on random papers and I guess input into a computer when a nurse gets to (which is likely to not happen as they are clearly understaffed). When asked to provide the lab results physically to us they said they cannot release this for at least 72 hours. My 4 year old niece who plays doctor has better communication and bedside manner then this horrific place. It’s dirty, stuck in the 60s technology wise, and they should be ashamed to even call it a hospital. I would go as far to say it should be shut down if this is the level of care they are giving. If we were in a life or death situation that seconds or minutes made a difference I would be willing to bet the outcome would be catastrophic.

If there were negative stars I would give it. Only leaving review to say my piece above as they don’t even deserve one star.

Adding an update: it’s been over two weeks since our initial visit to the ER and being admitted. We just got the records in the mail and let me tell you. The hand written envelope sealed with packing tape really validates my review above.

All the positive reviews you’re reading are clearly fabricated because this hospital is absolutely pathetic and the owner, CEO, CFO etc. should be ashamed of themselves. I’m shocked they haven’t...
