Decent price, good location, river outside is a plus. Front-desk staff I interacted with is very nice. Housekeeping service and policy sucks. Don't get me wrong -- the room seemed pretty clean when I first arrived, but then....no more service after that. Also was provided just one shower towel. At this location for a week, beginning on a Wednesday. Wasn't told (when I checked in) until I asked for housekeeping on Friday that they only do it every third day of your stay AND upon request BUT not Fridays through the weekend. So, guess what that meant for my stay? I had to wait until Monday.
When I mentioned needing more towels and also about the trash, it was suggested I come pick up towels and can grab a trash bag to take out my OWN trash. 🤨
So, because enough of it had collected over several days and I knew there'd be several more until housekeeping would be able to come clear it, I did look for the dumpster and gathered up and took my own trash out to it. A very weird hotel experience, I must say. Feels like I'm at home, not in a good way.
So, then I went to the front desk early Sunday to see about additional shower towels, only to be told they were out -- no more towels. So, still hanging on, and would have to continue to, with my ONE shower towel I started with over a half week prior (even given how very hot it's been out as of late).
I then patiently but anxiously waited until Monday and specifically called the front desk that morning to request that housekeeping come by -- had a whole extensive conversation with the front-desk person about the time and everything (wanted to make sure I was out before they came); got everything together for the room to be cleaned -- cleared the bed of my things, gathered all the trash in one place (in and around the one, now-overflowing small bin in the room), and put my one shower towel on the floor to make sure it was replaced); and made sure my dog and I were both gone for the day so they could come by.
Came back that night....to find that they hadn't. 😤😤😤
Went to the office to complain. The person there apologized, and thankfully, they now had more towels, but! Couldn't get those until I first went and brought back my dirtied one..b/c there's that bad of a towel shortage at this place!! 😕
All not the end of the world, just frustrating and annoying. It's one thing if you know upfront to expect these things when staying at a hotel. Another for there to be standard practice and general good customer care you expect that the establishment surprises you by not following.
Since I'm leaving in two days and don't want to go through that ordeal and possibly be disappointed again (plus will need to be more in the room these last few days), I won't even bother requesting again.

• LOCATION; Located in a quiet neighborhood, so it's pretty safe and peaceful. My family quite literally slept in our car when arriving too early for check-in and we woke up in the morning in one piece. It seems that almost every guest does the same thing, enforcing the safety of the hotel. Super convenient location as it is near American Dream and Manhattan. Commuting to New York City is really easy as well, though there might be a lot of walking. Emphasis on the location convenience of American Dream, it is literally only 3 minutes away by car. There is also a very scenic view of the river and American Dream at the back of the hotel, which is very great for taking photos and doing picnics. WiFi is pretty stable even by the pavillion. Dunkin Donuts, Wendy's, and a Dimsum house nearby for food.
• SERVICE; Very friendly staff. They were able to accommodate our request to be transferred to the first floor despite full booking, and they were very easy to talk to. However, I have to rate it a 3/5 since we asked to get our floor cleaned due to its uncomfortable, but the cleaning wasn't very well done.
• ROOM; Beds are very comfortable, our room had a microwave, ironing board, and conveniently located near the parking so we can quickly get or transfer our stuff from the room, car, and vice versa.
NOT SO GREAT ASPECTS
• WIFI SIGNAL; As our room is located at the very end of the first floor by the parking (132), we thought that this may be the reason why our room did not have access to good WIFI, which is terribly inconvenient. We only had access to the internet in the center garden by the white bench, so we had to sit in the cold just to browse. Surprisingly, the pavillion by the river had stronger signal than our room. This was such a huge let-down for us, but at least our family bonded more through the television.
• CLEANLINESS; Although the beds were very comfortable and clean, the floors were not. It was weirdly sticky and dusty, so we had to wear our shoes around the room, which was rather unpleasant. The iron and hair dryer were very dusty, and the floor of the washroom didn't feel like they were swept well. We tried to avoid walking by the carpet between the beds as well because of how dusty it was as well (we don't know what particles or debris it might be containing). Wearing shoes around the room solved the problem anyway.
• ODOR; There is a weird lingering odor that smelled like wet dog around the exterior of our room, which is very unpleasant. It's bearable and doesn't extend to our room, but being greeted by the smell when leaving the room is not a very welcoming gesture.

Read moreIf I could give this hotel no stars I definitely would. Where do I start 🤔 worst hotel experience in my entire life!!! First of all let's began with the fact that our room looked as if it hadn't been cleaned at all. Good thing we always spray and wipe down the entire room when we stay at hotels. Our second day I had my husband call down to the front desk to have housekeeping come and clean our room and change linens and towels and washcloths. The lady flat out told a lie and said housekeeping didn't work on weekends (this was Saturday) but she could put us on the list for Monday (we were checking out on monday) okay so as we were on our way out we saw a housekeeper on our floor. So day three my husband saw a housekeeper and ask if we could get our room cleaned he said that he would take care of it.Once we returned from the football game our room still hadn't been touched ,atp I was.beyond livid, I went down to the office myself and do you know that these sorry folks gave us the linens and said we had to change them ourselves. The whole time we were there (three nights) housekeeping never cleaned our room ,my husband even had to take the trash out and everything. The straw that really broke the camel's back was the fact that the sheets that we had slept on for 2 nights look as if they weren't changed from the guest that stayed before us, once we pulled the sheets back to change them I was disgusted. We never sleep under the sheets so we hadn't realized how truly filthy these people were..Once we left I made a formal complaint with guest services with pictures and all,and demanded a full refund. These no good people only said they would refund us $133.38 the cost of one night.I called back and told them that we don't accept that, bc of the filthy conditions and the lack of service and hospitality. They apparently lied about giving us a refund bc my husband have yet to receive the funds for the night they promised to refund.and they never refunded him for the $50 deposit you have to pay at check in. We are highly disgusted with this whole experience and we will not rest until they right this wrong. We will never ever stay at any Redroof !!!!! I just want you all at Redroof to know that bc of you all our 1 year wedding Anniversary was ruined. We traveled from NC to New Jersey by vehicle to go to the Giants vs Eagles game and the only good thing about the hotel was how close to the Metlife Stadium it was. They need to condemn this hotel or give it an extreme makeover..If you're ever in the area do yourself a favor and don't...
