This is very close to where my friend now owns a vacation home and she thought I was nuts when - for the week - I told her I just wanted to become one with this hiking location. I am a crack of dawn hiker, so I like to be more familiar with trails. I am also afraid of heights. Bell Rock is perfect for people like me. While most people will go on the main Bell Rock trail, there are actually quite a few ways to continue to explore. Bell Rock connects to Courthouse Vista trail (the next big rock group over). If you are jogging, Bell Rock's path is fairly straight forward. It's hard to get lost. There are a couple of routes where it will post Single Lane BiPass. You will want to have an All Trails Map if you decide to take this. that said, if you're hiking later in the evening or crack of dawn, you don't need to get scared, b/c it will literally all open up in a single circle that leads to the trail head. If you do a longer hike, definitely make sure to look up Spaceship Rock. It's between Bell Rock and Courthouse, and it's very cool. Other than the main trail (between the trail head and the upward climb of Bell Rock itself), you can be on the other trails and see no one until much later morning hours. as for whether you should choose Bell Rock, I would say it is def a novice climb, but the last bit, I did struggle and didn't want to climb up to the top by myself. I think no one else felt this way, as many little children just jumped right on up the one rock that is a bit steeper mid-trail. It's possible that one day, they will just add a couple of rocks so that this one spot up the mountain is even easier. I was a big baby about it, though. Still, if you're like me, the area that is considered the lower Bell Rock offers amazing views, so it's a very cool situation to wait out your less...

Please note that you DO need a Red Rock Pass to park here, but you can buy one on site from the little kiosk. (You can buy a day pass or week pass, which I recommend.) You can park either in the Bell Rock lot or the Courthouse Vista lot to access Bell Rock. I would recommend parking in the Bell Rock lot and using the Bell Rock trailhead, because you'll have a nice trail to walk up that's more scenic than when you come from the Courthouse side. You'll get the effect of seeing it from a distance and continually getting closer, which is really impressive. Bell Rock is pretty easily climbed (up to a point) so I suggest wearing hiking boots. There are some nice flat ledges that lend themselves to taking in sweeping views and being able to just lay out in the sun. All of Bell Rock is a vortex site, so the energy here is undeniable. I left feeling fantastic all of the times we visited on our trip, which made me purposely fit in extra visits in our busy schedule! We ran out of time before we were able to actually walk the full trails that will take you all the way around Bell Rock and Courthouse Butte, but honestly I enjoyed spending time hiking up and around Bell Rock more! It's a fantastic site. It wasn't very busy when we visited in the late afternoon, but just like every single thing in Sedona...parking is at a premium if you're not there early. This is also open for doing night walks, if you've got...

If you're looking for a super minimal hike with an absolutely incredible view, then Bell Rock Trail is DEFINITELY for you! We were wanting to take some gorgeous photos in dresses, so we didn't want anything too crazy, and this was literally perfect.
The hike up to the top is not bad at all β super manageable! And even better, there's a flat area with incredible views all around that is just perfect for snapping those amazing photos. This is absolutely a kid-friendly hike too, since the paths are open and the terrain is not rough at all. Your little ones will love it! π¨βπ©βπ§βπ¦
We went at sunrise, and oh my gosh, this was such a perfect time! The sun rises behind one of the largest mountains, which gave us plenty of time to beat the heat and get to the top before the sun fully peeked over. It was so peaceful and just such an incredible spot. There weren't a ton of people around either, and everyone we passed was super nice!
Anytime we go back to Sedona, we definitely make sure to visit this spot. This one is a 10 out of 10 from me! I would absolutely recommend making Bell Rock Trail a stop on your Sedona bucket list. You seriously won't...
