15 years in Dublin and always supported local small businesses like Bakers but no more for them. I was shopping there today with my 90 year old mother, and before I went outside to the garden area, I stored around $200 worth of merch behind the counter. I was outside and bringing in another $100 of plants and containers when my mother came to find me. Letās remember sheās 90. She asked to use their restroom and it was getting urgent. The older woman at the register told her to go to Walgreens down the street. So carrying all my purchases inside and seeing a few people already in line, I went to the front of the line where the clerk who suggested Walgreens was helping another customer. I apologized to both for interrupting and asked again if my mother couldnāt use their restroom as it was urgent. Without any eye contact, she said the door was locked and it would be a few minutes until she could unlock it. To which the customer who was with her told her that it was fine and she could wait for the door to be unlocked for my mother. No response - she continued unboxing something to check batteries and told the customer it had to be synced and she would be happy to do it. Again the customer very kindly told her to go unlock the door. Clerk continued on as if not hearing. And Iām standing there the entire time. When the customer AGAIN suggested she could open the door, the clerk continued to fiddle with the packaging. At which point I put my things right on the counter and told them we were leaving. And we did. And my poor mom didnāt even make it to Walgreens much less home.
I did call and spoke to the manager. She said sheād look into it as itās not completely for shoppers to need the ladies room. But she didnāt ask my name or number to follow up, and if you look thru some earlier reviews here, you see the same complaint. I get that they donāt have public restrooms but the clerkās testy attitude and passive aggressive behavior has turned me off completely.
From now on, I go only to Morgan House and drive past Bakers to get...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI came to purchase some ornaments for my family because a few coworkers recommended this place because of the variety. I really want to get my daughter a first Christmas ornament. They had a variety of ornaments for both boys and girls, and even a snowman and maybe even a reindeer. What they didnt have is the reason for the review. They had not 1 African American baby ornament. I moved on to the family and even the themed ornaments (ballet, football, etc) and seriously I seen 1 ornament with an African American depicted. Only 1 and it was only because the people could be changed out in whichever way the customer wanted. Again plenty of snowpeople and reindeer were represented. Such a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have easily spent $500-$700/yr when shopping at Bakers but I may have made my last trip. I travel approx 200 mi round trip to shop there and hearing the worn-out excuse that they have stopped allowing patrons to use their bathroom due to COVID is getting VERY OLD and has no correlation with getting the virus. It's inexcusable to tell paying customers to use the bathroom at Walgreens or Wendys. What was once a treat, has now put me in a very bad mood! Oh...and if you question if they have opened the restroom to customers, they block you on FB. I'm done...
