The Strand Theater is one of my favorite places in Shelbyville! The staff are kind and welcoming professionals who truly care about our community. The theater is beautiful and constantly being updated. The Strand Theater is definitely one of the gems in our community that highlights the appeal of living in "small town U.S.A." Thank you David Finkle, and the rest of your dedicated team!

The theater does have a handicap area. But, they choose to use it for the overflow area. We needed the handicap area, and a few others needed it also. Bad planning! They gave me an old metal folding chair, which obviously been used to hold a paint can. Had to stand to see the show. Good show! Very cool place though.

Very nicely redone ole theater that has live shows, comedy acts, bands, plays, and more! Step back in time to elegance when you walk into this place. They have a small concession stand just off to the left side when you walk in. Very nostalgic place to go for some low cost live on a stage entertainment. They kept all the glitz and glamour of years past when they carefully redid this place. For something different than a new release movie at a normal theater, catch a show here sometime. But wait, there's more, if you do want to see a special Christmas, Halloween, or seasonal classic type movie, they also play these too during certain seasons. Next time you see their outside billboard with a show you want to see, stop in a enjoy a night of fun. Limited parking on the street in front of the theater, but lots of parking across the street in the free town...

There's always a good time to be had at the Strand, whether its a live production, film, poetry, concert... Having David Finkel as the voice of the Strand is truly an asset. His heart and soul lies with the community and it shows in his tireless energy when promoting the many talents. Further, we wouldn't be able to run such a successful class-act performing art center without the volunteers who are lovers of the arts as well. ...

I saw my first movie there on the 7th of this month, and found The Strand to be a very cool place! They do "Friday Night Frights", and this year got a hold of classic Universal monster movies! The concession stand has popcorn, drinks and candy bars that are reasonably priced, the staff were all incredibly nice, and the theater (including bathrooms) was very clean. Seats were comfy, and the sound system was good. I'm definitely...
