Veterans Memorial Park — Attraction in Shippensburg

Nice park, but it's a little unkempt, branches and stuff down. There's like a batter's cage/pitching netting thing. That's been smashed and untended to for a while. To bad too, veterans memorial and all. The swimming pool areas just not good to look at and the pump shed has a roof that is obviously failed. The ball fields seem to be well kept, football field etc. and even the soccer area are in good shape. All in all, it's a nice park just doesn't appear to be taken care of...

I grew up in Shippensburg, and I want to move back soon! I take my children to see the fireworks on Independence Day every year. The field is so beautiful, surrounded by so many wonderful families celebrating the day. The town band puts on a magnificent performance every year! I love the tribute to the veterans, this town is as patriotic and all-American as you can get. An absolutely splendid park, and small-town...
