Okay let's talk about it! The wild life is abundant, from duck, geese, ravens, and fish, to egrets, cranes, and several other bird species. It is well maintained and a plethora of sights to see. They have a playground with our swings just a heads up. But it is pretty modern. They have public bathrooms that are cleaner than most public parks, no blatant graffiti besides kids carving their initials in wood, stall doors were a little stiff but oh no what shall we ever do?! A lap around the lake is a little over a mile and for the Pokemon go peeps there is a ton of pokestops and pocket monsters to catch. Wonderful views and plenty of benches to stop and enjoy the view. The denizens of pinetop who I assume frequent there are so friendly and warm to strangers, letting my lady and I pet their doggos and holding conversation and even chiming in on songs we were singing. Great place and great community, very...
Read moreThis place has a nicely paved path all the way around the reservoir. Keep your dogs on a leash, as it is a busy place. Sadly, the path will get hot and burn pups paws, if you go during the hot part of the day, so be cautious of that. There is a decent playground area, bbq area, and they will even rent out kayaks (if you book them in advance). It is cleaner then a lot of the other local ponds/lakes in the area. Please clean up after yourself and keep it that way! The local library also set-up little things to read every once in a while along the path and folks have been painting rocks and leaving them in the right side of the path, since COVID. We were inspired to do some of our own, after the walk. Some of the rocks there are very artistic. I would not suggest swimming, although you...
Read moreThe lake is still almost non-existent but Phoenix and I did see a herd of deer when we walked at the park today. I wrote this first review four years ago and gave it a 1 star, which was wrong of me. The lake has had it's upside and downs but was very full yesterday when we walked around the path that had been cleared of all the snow from the previous day. This is a beautiful park that everyone will enjoy. There are playgrounds for the kids, picnic areas and ramadas, a little over a mile paved walking path around the lake where you can see all kinds of birds, ducks and geese, and hiking trails. You can even see eagles and osprey on occasion. I should have given this a 5-star rating from...
