I recommend anyone that lives in Sikeston or even finds themselves passing through pay this place a visit. It is a very cool and interesting source of knowledge on the rich local history, trust me you will be surprised. The people that work here are very happy to see visitors and make great storytellers as they key you into things you cannot believe you hadn't heard about (ask why the founder Mr.Sikes has that weird looking beard). Wow. The depot is also home to an impressive collection of ancient artifacts left behind by the prehistoric natives, stories if pioneers battling Panthers, giant snakes and massive earthquakes.    Read moreWe stopped by on a day that was closed and happened to catch the curator who kindly let us in. My mom had lived in Sikeston until she was 7 and enjoyed the old pictures of sites that she remembered.
This is a lovely small museum that is well organized and has spent time making quality exhibits.
