Probably one of the TOP Places to visit in the North Shore Region, in my humble, but accurate opinion. 👌 Just a stunning beach! Parking is limited, but there are picnic tables and fire pits on the beach if you get there early enough to claim one. The sand is made up of a larger grain of sand, which brushes off super easy as it dries. Bring sandals, it does make it easier on the feet when walking. The waters have easy access and remain pretty shallow, but deep at times. Easy location for egate hunting and a wonderful place to swim and picnic. Make it a day trip, if you plan to chill and relax. There are places for shade. Rock climbing is also a thing... but some people had me nervous, the kids get too close to those cliffs. But then again, who am I to judge... no one...

Great park. You can walk right on the shore of Lake Superior. The view of the lake is breathtaking. There are lots of rocks to skip on the water. Picnic tables and bonfire pits on the shoreline. RV sites are nice, but be careful what you book they are not all full hookups, and all reservations are taken online. The first tier is electric hook up only. No water or sewer. But they do have showers you can use and bathrooms in each section. Dog friendly. Silver Bay, the closest town, rolls up the streets by 8pm. It is beautiful here but a real hole in...

Such an amazing experience and something you don't see anywhere else. Don't plan on doing more than standing ankle deep as the water is super cold, but crystal clear and beautiful. Our kids played all day around the rocks and hiking trails. Be sure to go to the south parking area as Google took us to the north one and it took a lot of hiking before we figured out we weren't even on the right beach. Both parking areas have bathrooms and picnic tables, but the south location has them out on the black beach for an amazing view...

Absolutely wild. It's really is a black beach in MN! The sand isn't super tiny inward but gets pretty minute as you approach the shore. Fun place to have a campfire at night, or a beach day of you can stand the cold of the lake! Even if you just stop on the way to or from another state park, please do it. The pictures don't so it justice. Also, there's a HUGE rock cliff you can climb if you are an experienced boulder climber, but do not let children attempt. It's mostly safe unless you try to get to the top.

The water was crystal clear!! It was so beautiful yet freezing cold! Thankfully the sand was warm. I actually expected the sand to be softer from other reviews but it was a mix of both. Some parts had soft sand meanwhile others, pebbles. I think i would've rated this beach higher if the woodchips and wood pieces from the shore was cleaned. It made walking on the beach without shoes a bit hazardous. Otherwise, beautiful beach. Sand is more gray too instead of black.
