Food quality is good and prices are up but I like the store overall. My issue comes with a visit I has today on 10/31 around 10sh am. I typically have big orders in my cart . And I choose to use the self checkout because I personally like to bag my items a certain way . Because I live in the 3rd floor . But today as I was checking out I was getting in line . I was abruptly stopped by an associate lady who told me I couldn’t use the self check out for my order because the cashiers will not have hours if I use the self checkout for my order . Is that not the most odd and weird thing to say to a customer spending an excess of $300 in one order at your store. I replied that strange I have never heard that and on top of that I have never been told in the past year I have shipped at this location usually I have a big order I use self check out and the manager s conversate with me and they never tell me this absurdness. This to me is controlling how a customer wishes to checkout out which is way to much to deal with for me . So customer lost and I will be shopping at Lowe’s food from today on . I don’t like someone telling me where to check out because the size of my order I am paying for and personally bagging . And she also whispered I will have to help you . Not true because I don’t ask anyone to help me checkout at the self...
Read moreOdd smell when you come in the door near the deli/bakery. Like seafood going off. If it's because they have seafood near the door (which, I looked and didn't see last time) then they should rethink the placement because it is a very unpleasant smell. Prices are higher than Ingles, not quite as high as Publix.... like a generic Publix actually.... What you can go buy at Walmart for $30, you'll spend over $50 at Food Lion on. Which is ridiculous. Using their card isn't really "saving" money, it just brings some things down to the price it should have been in the first place, and helps keep a track record of what customers are buying so the managers know what to keep better stock of. I don't particularly like the idea of people tracking my eating habits, but I guess these days pretty much everything you do is tracked one way or another, so.... ehh.... Anyway, the people are super friendly and the shopping is enjoyable, the prices and the...
Read moreI would hope this isn’t training but every time I come in there, I’m watched uncomfortably at checkout. I don’t wear baggy clothes (to attempt to hide anything) and wear small purse, if any (sometimes I’m in athleisure). Nothing about me or my demeanor is shady mcgrady. I pretty much smile and greet everyone if we meet eyes (can’t help it, Southern), usually I’m listening to music on my AirPods (minding my business), and even though it should not be a pre judgement, I don’t come in messy, sloppy or disoriented. I don’t look houseless. And I standby those individuals also shouldn’t be watched as if they are criminals. It’s very inappropriate, unprofessional and prejudice at this point.
SN: And their prices are not competitive with nearby grocers. So...
