i just stopped into game lair for the first time since moving to Sioux City years ago and met travis. They have a big selection but overpriced on items and consoles. I had told Travis I had never been in their store and stopped going to another store because of things I didn’t like. Travis stated so very personal things about another game storeowner. That threw me off because he is an employee of game lair talking the way he did. It seemed to me very unprofessional. Travis also tried selling me over priced items i didnt accept his offer. By saying I would need to speak to my wife. I didn’t wish to come off rude with him. He had also enquired in buying a rare & sought after games I had spoke of that i had I told him I would have to look to see if i still had the games. The following day I called the store I told them I did in fact have both of the games & what I was looking to get out of both games. They refused so I listed it on a few sites thinking ok no problem. I had it listed on Facebook marketplace. Then I had received a message from Travis after meeting one whom tried to change the offer that was clearly a lowball attempt from another person. I asked Travis if he had cash money he claimed he did that he would have to buy the game after 7 pm. Then Travis offered to trade store items that he offered to sell me the day before that i had rejected the day before when I was in the store because they were overpriced. He wanted def jam fight for ny which list from 160 to 250 dollars & def jam vendetta which sells for 30 to 60 dollars online and in game stores. For the black label. They currently are selling a greatest hits for 185. Mind you by this point Travis had claimed he after he had the money to buy the games. Which stated on the listing no trades of any kind. The items he offered to trade me was two ps2 wired guitar hero guitars one in the box & one wasn’t and dj hero. So the items he offered belonged to game lair at best spent 20 to 40 dollars for the items for two games worth well over 200 dollars. What does that tell a person about game lair? He then asked many questions about others items I was sending snapshots as became rude and tried to get the posting pulled. Since I rejected his offers for a second time. I have tried to ignore him and his many times attempts at this point. But clearly offering store items to build a personal collection says something about the person. I have snapshots to back all of this up.as I also have the chat saved. I called the store today and asked them to please take my name off the game list. Of some games and items I was looking for after the night before. When I spoke to the store today to request To be removed from the list. I briefly explained why to Matt whom seems to be very disinterested in what occurred. The night before so it was clear to me to assume this is allowed to be the way game lair employees are allowed to act. I can offer snapshots of this Buyers beware! I've had fo block him on facebook to stop the messages. This is not how stores should operate. It’s very disappointing & untrustworthy businesses practices This is why I will never shop at game lair. Take your business to dwolfs as I have for years they do not do...

Here are the bad experience that I have received from them so far on just one item, PS3 slim slim console edition. 1st: they gave me a PS1 power cord and not a PS3 power cored 2nd: they don't have PS3 controllers in their store so I had to buy one off of Ebay and they still don't have them in the store 3rd: the console doesn't even read a PS3 physical disk.

As a retro store, they should have tested and made sure that the system had the right cords and assessories before selling it. It doesn't matter if it is a used or new item. Always check the product unless it is absolutely sealed inside the box. The person behind the desk said that it could be bugs and roaches inside the system. They said that if it is the laser or anything that needs replaced; I have to pay for that even after I only used it onces. That was last night. I did not have games or a controller for it until yesterday afternoon. That store doesnt have good selection for games that I want. I am not driving 65 miles for one thing unless they are willing to pay for my gas. I have been playing video games since I was child every since sega genesis came out. I know how to take care of a system, video games, and its assessories.

Don't tell me that bugs and roaches are in the system. You guys need to know how to run a retro store better and acutally do your homework on how video game systems work. I will NEVER buy from that...

They're extremely unique. Yes, it's like a gamestop but not quite the same. They've got a ton of classic games and even a few classic consoles on display in the back. They're employees are so extremely helpful. The thing that makes them unique is the "Battle Cage" where they host tournaments in fortnite, COD and other things. Not only that but you and a few friends can go in there on any day and play any game that they have downloaded. It is a great place for a game session for hours upon hours...
