They say the earth laughs in flowers* which leads to a question to ponder. Is the joke on us? A people dialed in daily to the digital or are we in on the joke knowing what beauty and tranquility awaits us in lovingly created spaces such as Latham Park. An early summer evening spent sauntering through this elegant acreage, is at once a sight for the eyes and reset for the soul. A historic (1915) private residence and plot, there is much information to learn about the Latham family & home on the Latham Park website. Several events take place throughout the year (a popular one seems to be ‘Art in the Park’ in September), however a simple pause in your day to come see, sit and possibly even picnic (benches available) would surely bring a needed break in one’s day or week. Protip: Nestled in a residential area, street parking is available with entrances off Lemon & off Cedar. No animals allowed & no play equipment but still recommend for a leisurely visit. *Ralph Waldo Emerson

Pretty park. There were a few peonies in bloom. We used to go there as young kids, and run through the stone paths between the tall flowers.

It is a magnificent beautiful park. It is truly a hidden gem.My grandparents built the house at 1924 S.Lemon St in the 1940s. When we visited them Latham park was a significant part of the family visit to see them. I have not seen the park in more than 40 years. It is now even more spectacular than I recall it...

Nearly an acre of planted garden with fountain, places to sit and enjoy the foliage and your company. A privately owned property maintained for use by the general public. I wonderful site for weddings, receptions, photographs, and relaxation. All of this nestled into a quaint residential area of...
