Catering by Cleavers — Attraction in Sioux Falls Township

Tyler was absolutely awesome to work with for our wedding last winter. He was extremely accessible, quick to respond and offered great options for us to serve our guests. From the initial planning to the execution of the event, Tyler was a total professional. We were amazed by the samples we tried and were comfortable with our selections months before they were served at our wedding. To sum it up, Tyler just made the whole process easy and stress-free for us.

We were so impressed with Tyler and his food that we opted to have him host both the rehearsal/groom's dinner as well as cater the wedding. His space was perfect for our small group to enjoy an intimate evening and the food and drinks were outrageously good. The entire group commented numerous times how great the food was and how cool Tyler and his crew were. He offers a laid back, classy environment with 5 star food.

As for the wedding - we had a social hour between the ceremony and dinner and Tyler's hors d'oeuvres were a total hit. He offers a robust selection of dishes to serve - I don't think you can go wrong with any of the options and they definitely were snatched up quickly.

To preface my review of the wedding dinner, I come from a family heavily involved in the beef industry (and many of the guests work in the industry also), so the standards for beef are pretty high. We elected to serve prime beef strip loin via a carving station and to say Tyler knocked it out of the park is a TOTAL understatement. I've never heard so many comments to the effect of "it was the best cut of meat I've ever had". So good in fact, that my soft spoken uncle who owns and operates a steakhouse/supper club in Wisconsin felt the need to stand up after dinner and announced to the crowd that it was one of the best meals he'd ever had and that Tyler deserved major kudos for his efforts. I think his words spoke to the level of professionalism in the quality of food, presentation and planning by Tyler and his team at Cleaver's.

I can't say enough great things about Chef Tyler and his incredible team at Catering by Cleavers! We recently celebrated my daughter's wedding, and ordering catering felt like a monumental task—especially since we wanted everything to be flawless. From the moment we chose Tyler, it was clear that we were in capable hands. My biggest worry going into the day was managing the flow of guests through the buffet. I've been to weddings where the lines felt endless, and that was not how I wanted our celebration to feel, especially when there were memories to be made on the dance floor! Chef Tyler completely understood this concern and delivered beyond my expectations. To our delightful surprise, all 250 guests were graciously and efficiently served within just 25 minutes. It was exquisite to see everyone indulging in the delicious dishes while effortlessly mingling. 10 Stars! We fell in love with Cleavers at his Sioux Falls location many years ago. We live in Iowa. We always said to ourselves if we ever need a caterer, it would be him. We found him on-line and the rest is history. Chef Tyler is the best at providing great food and service. He is top-notch! He had me when he said there is "more than one way to do things; I need to see some pictures of the kitchen; and "this works best for travel." It's also a great comfort to know that he treats his workers well and they stay with him. Our daughter was married this past October 7th, 2022 at Crossroads Pavilion in Sheldon, IA. Chef Tyler seamlessly provided appetizers and the wedding meal. We had people coming from all over with their expectations and various food sensitives. I had SEVERAL people tell me this is the best wedding food they have ever had. I heard a lot of "that sauce," "that corn" and "the meat was so moist." The closer I got to my daughter's wedding, the greater was my comfort for hiring Chef Tyler and crew. He is fantastic and reasonable to work with.
