We booked this hotel on the fly on a road trip because it is in a convenient location and it advertised how "family friendly" it was and they offered "free breakfast". Also we have previously had excellent experiences at other Holiday Inn locations. Things started to go poorly when we arrived around midnight and no one was at the front desk. I tried calling the hotel, but of course the phone just rang right in front of me as my tired family waited for me to get the keys so they could go to the room and sleep after being on the road all day. The clerk was apologetic, but then we got our next surprise. The "free breakfast" advertised with the room only included two adults (it did allow 4 children as well). Our room was for 6, including our teenage children. I'm not sure why the breakfast was listed as free with the room if only a third of the people staying actually got free breakfast. In trying to talk to the clerk and manager the next morning, they kept repeating that this is a "full service" hotel and repeatedly compared it to Holiday Inn Express hotels. Their comparison was that they have meeting rooms and a restaurant where you pay for breakfast and the Express has free breakfast for all guests and no meeting rooms. The irony of offering less to your guests and calling it "full service" was apparently lost. When we explained that we specifically chose this hotel because of it's being advertised as "family friendly" and that when we made the reservation the site said "free breakfast" they just replied that as a full service hotel they couldn't help us. Finally, when checking out around 11, once again there was no one at the front desk or in the manager's office. They did eventually show up, but it made me wonder if there is a staffing shortage that resulted in the front desk being frequently abandoned. Overall, nice rooms and a nice building. But here "full service" means no "customer service". P.S. I'm sure there will be a response where they again explain that they are a full service hotel. I want to again point out that providing less in the way of customer service does not somehow make your...
Read moreThe head housekeeper was the rudest most disrespectful employee I have ever came across at an any hotel. No way should she be working in a customer service environment! Especially at an IHG hotel! The way I was so disrespectfully treated was the worst I've ever experienced! I strongly advise the GM to watch the cameras!! My daughter and myself were going to be late check outs but decided to check out early instead. After getting off the elevator i noticed the housekeepers in the hallway so I went to to let them know we were out of the room. Apparently my mask was not on to her liking. Not to mention my daughter and myself were the only people in the hotel even wearing one. I had mine on covering my mouth and nose as your suppose to. Camera footage will show this, but she treated me like i had a disease. I let it go whatever and proceeded to to ask her if I could show her pictures I took of the dirty counters and nightstand in the room. She then told me to get away from her and that I needed to leave the hotel immediately because it was a pandemic and im not wearing my mask properly. Like are you serious? Am I suppose to pull it over my whole face? Your acting this way but can't even make sure rooms are clean? I understand some people are more scared of Covid than others, but I had my mask on and was doing what I was suppose to. There is a correct way to talk to people. You don't treat others the way this lady treated me. I walked away, went to my room to get our stuff. As we were leaving we walked right by her and didn't say anything. While we were waiting for the elevator she then turns around and tells us if we don't leave she's calling the police!!! Obviously we were!!!! She started another argument FOR NO REASON AT ALL!!!! Then I go down to the desk and the front desk agent doesn't even have his mask pulled over his nose and she comes and stands right next to him! We stayed at this property quite often with other basketball parents and teams, but never again!!! I did take several pictures that I will be...
Read moreMy first impression upon entering the lobby and greeted by the first concierge was great! The lobby looked clean and well kept. The concierge was friendly and very helpful. Exhausted after a long day of driving and meetings, had to dodge puddles of water due to a very busy pool time with no water hog mats in sight to make for a safe floor. The elevator floor was basically flooded with pool water so I could not comfortably place my luggage on the floor and couldn’t avoid my shoes from getting rather wet with chlorinated water either. I found a trash can full of trash and stinky beer cans and a dingy shower floor that looked like it hadn’t been cleaned well or that needed a bleach based scrubbing solution if it had been cleaned due to some nasty grime stains. I brought the trash down to a second concierge who was too stunned to say anything to me and only took it to empty it after I stayed standing in front of the desk and told her I’d wait for it and take it up myself. I was never asked a room number, I volunteered that inf. The first concierge came out while she was away and apologized about the trash when I explained why I was waiting. Then the next day while I was away at meetings again, my room was never cleaned. I left no “do not disturb “ sign out. I had left out a tip for the cleaning staff, and that was still on the table with my thank you note along with my trash in my trash can and am in made bed. After what I was greeted to upon checking into my room, it made me uneasy as to if my room was freshly and thoroughly cleaned when I checked in or just hastily put together. I realize there are labor shortages, but if that is the case, you need to limit the number of rooms you book to what your limited staff can handle. The pool was packed every evening and water everywhere making it dangerous for all the little ones running around and those adults trying to move about the hotel, as you had to pass the pool to get to...
