Surprised to see the 4.4 average. We stayed there 3/1/3/3 for Pheasant Fest. First, someone unlocked our door the second night of our stay and started walking in our room while my wife and I were in bed, when they said "oops" and turned around and walked out!!! I mentioned it at check out to the young man behind the desk, he was not concerned at all, and offered a $20 discount to shut me up. I explained it wasn't about that and that it was a matter of security and and safety of their guests. He had no interest in listening. We also had to have our key cards reprogrammed 3x during our 2 night stay. A couple of days later, I happened to notice my credit card statement, the charge for the room was considerably more than the receipt I got at checkout after my $20 discount. I called to have it corrected. The person who answered said she was the GM and that she was in a mtg and would have to call me back...Hmm, ok, then why are you answering the phone? Needless to say, she never called me back! Next, as of 3/20/24. I have left 4 other messages with the staff that have answered, explained the situation, and all have said i have to talk to her (the GM), who conveniently is never there when i call. I am not one to give bad reviews, but I am very frustrated with the lack of communication whether it be the staff not passing the msg, or the GM, simply not caring enough to call me back. When we showed up at the hotel, I gave them another card for incidentals and didn’t think anything about it until the next day when I saw a charge for $123.70 on my card pending. I thought that was a lot to place a hold for incidentals and my wife called and was told it’s just pending and it will drop off in a day or so, and especially when they do the audit at the end of the day. The next day came and the charge went through on my credit card for $123.70 and so I called them again and was told it was an honest mistake which was made by someone in training. I was told that it will be resolved by the end of the day and I guess I don’t understand why they couldn’t issue the credit to my card while I was talking to them on the phone. I’m still waiting to see if they’re gonna take care of it, but I’m not optimistic and I already called my bank to file a claim and I had them block any further charges from them. Traveling is stressful enough without having to go over and make sure somebody did their job right the first time. We stayed here September 30 and then they ran the charge through on October 2 so I don’t believe it to be an honest mistake and will avoid this chain from now on. Read moreI had to book last minute travel last week to Sioux City, IA and did it through Expedia. I put the hotel on hold when I booked it, to be paid for when I arrived for my check-in on 10/3/19. On my flight from DFW to Sioux City I noticed that somehow my hotel had been booked at the wrong place, the AmericInn Sioux Falls North, not the AmericInn Sioux Falls, Iowa. I immediately contacted Expedia when I arrived before my check-in time to notify them of the error. They contacted the hotel while I was on hold. I received a notification yesterday that the GM at this property refused to issue me a refund and I booked two rooms for me and another business associate. I did stay at the AmericInn in Sioux City, IA and paid for both rooms. When I was notified via email that this property would not issue me a refund, I called the GM of this property yesterday. She was VERY rude and blamed this entirely on Expedia and vehemently denied that her property had been contacted. That is not true per the people I talked to at Expedia. Even if it had been the GM was very rude to me and this is the very first negative review I have written, and I consider myself to be very reasonable and understand that all businesses need to have policies they abide by.
