I unfortunately was disappointed this stay, last time I stayed here was back in 2018 and I used to stay regularly and was always a good experience this time not so much. Check in was supposed to be 3 I arrived at 3:45 to be told my room wasn’t ready, fine we will go grab an early supper. When we got back room was ready, I was pleasantly surprised by the updates as we walked in but that’s when the problems were noticed. The curtains won’t stay shut we had to use a hair clip to hold them shut, they also have big holes in them like they were melted together in dryer and were then ripped when pulled apart. My husband went to bathroom when I was getting unpacked and came out abruptly and told me to go look, the ceiling was wet and there was visible damage, my husband went to tell the man at counter and he was aware but was told nothing they could do. We were in town for concert and knew we wouldn’t be in room much so said fine and left. We were told at check in front doors are locked at 10pm and told to use one of the back doors, when we got back we were shocked to find that the back door doesn’t lock, it’s left open for anyone to come in. Bed was decently comfortable. Now we get to breakfast I remember last time we stayed they had eggs, waffles, biscuits and gravy tons of good food. When we got down there at 7:30 there was a couple bagels, some bread for toast, cereal and yogurt. It was complimentary so I’m not gonna complain just disappointed at lack of choices. It worked as we just needed somewhere to get some sleep and recharge before we headed home but that wet ceiling is going to be a big problem in the future when it falls and starts molding and had we not had something to hold curtains closed we would have had to leave curtains open while we slept which is extremely uncomfortable.

The fun started at check in. Check-in took nearly 40 minutes, walked in the door waited about five minutes to be helped. Two people behind the counter, one on the phone the other was just sitting there. After five minutes, finally got waited on as the guy appeared to wake up and help the person in front of me. The other woman was still on the phone. Gentleman could not find our reservation by name, found it by confirmation number. Unfortunately somehow they managed to tie our reservation with someone else’s and we didn’t have a room because the other people already checked in. I had enough and had to get my wife to come in, fortunately the lady that was on the phone finished the call and recognized my wife’s voice and knew that we had a reservation. Eventually they assigned us a room likely taking one away from someone else. I never heard an apology for the confusion or my wasted time. They took most of my information and credit card for the room that was already occupied, and then again for the room that we got. Will have to check the credit card to make sure was not charged twice. Second night there, staff behind the counter were rude and not accommodating without charging an additional fee. We were with a large group that booked several rooms and needed a place we could gather for pizza. From past experiences, we’ve had hotels provide space and even supply pizzas for us. Not this one star hotel…. Our room was clean and recently remodeled however curtains had holes and looked like they were pulled out of a dumpster. Neither the bathroom sink or the bathtub drained. I do not recommend this place, much better options out there with competent and friendly staff that will make you feel like a guest instead of an inconvenience.

Before you think it's just a disgruntled customer please look at my photos and read my comments. I was recommended to this hotel, it cost me 100 a night. With the reviews and price I expect high quality. I have stayed in every type of hotel and living arrangements (military guy). I have never in my life left a hotel prior to sleeping because of accommodations. Upon arrival I unpacked my stuff and started relaxing, while walking around I started seeing stains, feeling crumbs on my feet and began to smell a funny smell. Look on photos to see what I found, as I'm not typing it all out. I called the front desk and requested a clean room. When the manager came up he told me that he had pre screened the room and it should be up to my standards... Let's just say after a couple min I could see that it was just as bad. I walked down to the front desk to speak with the manager and he said that the rooms are all cleaned. At this point I placed a bucket full of crumbs and fuzz onto the counter and said I found this in only a couple on min. He told me that he was sorry and offered a small discount. I returned to the room to get some sleep but after looking in the bed and shower I refused to stay. I'm currently staying at the candle light in.... It was cheaper and I don't feel like I'm staying in a room that was last cleaned 10 years ago.

If I could give it less than a star I would. First, we tried calling them numerous times in the two days leading up to our reservations, but the phone rang and rang and no one answered. We even tried calling Expedia and Expedia had the same issues. When we arrived at 4:21pm the day of our check in, there was a line of people there. It was a mess. Then one of the other people in line let us know that the Pool is closed due to mechanical issues which is why I rented a room at this hotel in the first place. It took us 30 minutes to get checked in because they were so short staffed. The lady doing the check in informed me that they had two housekeepers walk out that day so half the rooms are not clean and that's why there are so many issues. She refused to offer any kind of discount or refund for the hotel due to the pool issue so we couldn't go stay elsewhere. She said she had been advising people to stop payment through their bank in order to avoid paying for the room. She said she had worked 110 hours this pay period and she was just so over it because there was nothing she could do because of the restrictions of management and the owners. When we finally got to our room, we encountered a hallway full of garbage bags and dirty laundry and a cleaning staff on the way. Although the staff was friendly and took us to our room, our room did not have any soap in it. The heater was not on so it was probably 65 degrees in the room. The bathroom floor was so cold, it was almost painful to step on the tile barefoot. Stains on the carpet. Sheets super wrinkly. My sister also rented a room here. When she arrived around 6pm, there was no one at the front desk. There is no way to ring a bell or call for anyone. They tried calling the hotel and no one answered. Ten to 15 minutes later, someone showed up. The lady did "upgrade" their room for free but it wasn't really an upgrade. Starting at 8am the next day, the housekeepers were repeatedly knocking on everyone's doors to clean their rooms regardless of whether they had checked out or not. We went to breakfast about 915 and there was barely any food left. The juice was all gone. There was not a waffle maker as pictured in the photos of the hotel. Everything was out of order. There was no gravy for the biscuits. The coffee was terrible. The place was dirty. The tables weren't wiped down. Then the staff got really mad when another guest asked her for more gravy because breakfast was about to be over and she didn't want to make all that gravy right before breakfast ended.

MANY PEOPLE SICK FROM POOL!!!! We drove two hours to stay at Dakota Lodge and enjoy the waterpark for our sons 5th Birthday. After being in the pool for a short time we noticed multiple children coughing. After an hour our son who has asthma as well as other life threatening medical conditions started uncontrollably coughing and needed his rescue medications. We quickly noticed it wasnt just a few sick coughing kids, there was several people uncontrollably coughing all at once. We left the pool quickly and our daughter said she was feeling unwell and coughing horrible. We knew it wasn't germs making people sick and that it was something in the pool/air. Mine and my husbands eyes were burning as well. We told the front desk that our kids as well as several other people were coughing and it was obvious that it was coming from the pool. There was other people at the desk unhappy and asking for a refunds and packing up and leaving. People with large groups of kids for Birthday parties, packed them up and left! The lady at the front said they checked the chemicals and they were fine. It was obviously in the air, but she refused to close the pool and said ,"that would make everyone unhappy."!We were stopped in the hallway by other parents telling us not to bring your kids back down to the pool and that there was even children throwing up because they were coughing so much and so sick from being in he pool. They close the pool down for one hour and then re-opened it. My husband went back down there just to check things out. As he was walking by two young girls came out of the pool area uncontrollably copying saying they needed water. He went in the bathroom and there was a young boy coughing so hard that he was throwing up in the garbage can. He went and talked to the front desk again in the lady refused to close the pool and said everything was checked and just fine!!!! For the safety of our children and everyone else in the hotel, we called a non-emergency phone number and told them what was going on, they sent the fire department. The fire department said as soon as they walked in the pool area their eyes and throat started to burn, but the numbers were OK. They then let the manager know that the pool needed to be shut down, because obviously something is wrong and it was making people very sick! The hotel was clean and my kids would have had a blast in the waterpark if it wasn't for all of this. Horrible experience, it was...

I called and spoke to (Ashley) and received a price for a king room for this weekend. Told her I would call back in 5 min to reserve as I had to verify with a family member first. Called back 5 min later and spoke with another girl who was very confused on just about everything I told her. I received 3 different prices from the same lady and had to repeat myself over and over again. When I asked for confirmation she said EVERYTHING she had done unfortunately cleared and she needed to do it all over again. I patiently gave it her once again and asked for confirmation. She then gave me a number and said thanks and was going to hang up. From my experience with other establishments I would put a card on file so I asked her if she needed one. She said “sure”. I proceeded to give her my card info 3 separate times before she finally said in the background she didnt know what she was doing wrong and asked for Ashley. Ashley, the apparent GM, came to the phone and put me on a musical hold without even saying a word to me. A few moments later she answered the phone like she was answering a new call. I told her what was happening and she apologized for having a new person. She then took my card info and gave me a confirmation number. My family member, decided to call the hotel a few minutes after I hung up and was shocked to find out that the pool wouldn’t be working this weekend. She was then and only then offered a discount. Had she (Ashley) the apparent GM, told me this initially, I wouldn’t have even booked this room but that didn’t happen. She proceeded to hide that fact until my family member called and asked. So I call back and asked to cancel the room and asked for confirmation of that cancellation. She gives me the same confirmation number she gave me earlier in the evening when I set up the room initially. I call her out for all the non sense and asked for her GM or RM’s name. She then proceeds to tell me she WAS the General Manager and she didn’t have a corporate number for me to call. No apparent RM either. So I ask for her last name so I could verify who she is and she hung up on me. I am beyond disappointed in the lack of professionalism this lady and her staff showed me. I will not recommend this hotel to anyone moving forward and she has lost my business completely. I will be looking into this matter through the BBB to verify all...
