We enter through Ronning Park and it's amazing how you can literally walk anywhere and soon enough you'll say, "I remember this place!" While also saying, "How are there so many places in such a small area?!"
Me and my friend literally just walk for hours, and I'd personally say it's very safe. The bridges are a favorite of mine and overall the river running through it adds a freshness that you wouldn't expect.
Some areas are shaggy and rotting with mushrooms and fungi, very cool and a good hangout place for angsty teens. There is a concrete area that I'd recommend for those types too.
There are also open grassy areas with sandy paths. You can see some houses and it's honestly really cool. Once you get to the grassy areas you can usually just walk and you end up by the interstate. It's very cool and bright, very sunny.
My favorite are the tree covered areas. As a redhead, it's great to get out and still have that cover. It's somehow cool even on the hottest days and I love it.
There surprisingly aren't many bugs, which is a dream come true. I get to be in nature AND don't get bitten by flies? Yessir!
Another great part of the trail are the other people there. You will rarely see anybody else there, and if you do they will be friendly. This trail is great for friends or loners, you won't have to deal with pretty much any social interaction which is definitely a plus for me.
There are tons of places to chill and cool off. Since there aren't many people the bike trick thingys are nice to sit on and as I mentioned earlier the bridges are fun.
There are 2 bridges: there's a bridge that's super funny, has a lot of writing from visitors on it. I'd tack this more in the angsty teen hangout area and it's hilarious. The other bridge is very uplifting with many compliments on it, and I love love love the stream running through it.
Overall, I love it! It's great for many different...
Read moreLeaders Park was a fun place to take kids for a winter hike. I think we will be going back for hikes in winter and in summer. There we lots of trails and fun bridges over the creek that runs through the park. Also it looks like it would be a good sledding spot. The one downside was figuring out how to get into the park. We ended up finding a little dead end road on the south end of the park to get into the park. If there is an official entrance I didn't see it. A good...
Read moreGreat trails, with lots of various paths that range from easy to more arduous. Nice overlook knoll as well. Only downside is that people tend not to clean up after themselves, as well as the water run off stinks. That part only affects the beginning portion of one of the trails. Overall, a great place to spend a few hours walking or cycling through. Also a great place for...
