Look, as a Sonoma-based mobility transport service, we get a lot of calls. A lot. We get calls for doctors' appointments, family dinners, and trips to see the grandkids. But if our dispatch board could talk, it would say one thing: "Three Fat Guys. Again."
It’s almost like a running gag. The phone rings, and nine times out of ten, it’s a friendly voice on the other end asking if we can take them and their "enthusiastic" cousin to the "place with the flannel shirts and the good Zinfandel." We don't even need the address anymore. We've got it on speed dial. Our drivers could navigate there blindfolded, but we don’t, for obvious reasons.
We’ve seen it all. We’ve dropped off a bachelorette party of seven, a family reunion that smelled suspiciously like barbecue, and at least three separate grandmas who all, somehow, looked exactly like your grandma and were all equally determined to bring home a case of the rosé.
Why? Because the place is easy. The parking lot is flat as a pancake. The tasting room entrance? No steps. The staff doesn’t stare at you like you’re trying to sneak a bowling ball into a library. They just smile, hold the door, and get you a glass. We've even seen them helping folks with the ramp, which is a rare sight and a testament to their good nature.
Frankly, it's a breath of fresh air. You know how many fancy-pants vineyards we have to deal with that are all cobblestone paths and gravel driveways? It’s like they designed the place specifically to make our job harder.
At Three Fat Guys, it’s just good wine, good people, and an accessible layout. So yeah, we’re probably going to be making a few more trips out there. And honestly? We don't mind one bit.
Sincerely, The guy who...
Read moreJust north of the fog where the city folks roam, Lies a winery that kinda feels just like home. Three Fat Guys, it’s called—yes, really, that’s right— Named for Packers who clearly snack well at night.
Now, we could say we go for the Hall of Fame crew, But between us, it’s more ’cause the pours are a view. And the people? So nice, like “you sure this ain’t fake?” Even Fred gets a treat, and he’s just there for cake.
Fred, our Pyrenees, white as a cloud, Walks in like a king, noble, fluffy, and proud. He sniffs every barrel, then flops on the floor— He knows when the rosé is ready to pour.
My husband and I? We’re deep in our zone, Comparing the cab to a French châteaune. We nod like sommeliers—very refined— But really we just like the buzz and unwind.
They’ve got chardonnay that hugs like a sweater, And reds that say, “Hey, this day just got better.” We swirl and we sip like we totally get it— Meanwhile Fred’s licking cheese like he doesn’t regret it.
It’s close to the city, no passport required, And after one tasting, we’re tipsily inspired. We don’t need Tuscany, we don’t need France, Just some wine, good folks, and a dog doing a dance.
So cheers to the Fat Guys and their stellar wine stash, To vineyards with views and a Pyrenees’ dash. We’re loyal, we’re local, and we’ll keep coming back— As long as Fred’s leash fits and we...
Read moreOur visit to Three Fat Guys Winery through Pushpak electric tricycle tours was absolutely lovely. The gal who guided our tasting was incredibly knowledgeable—not just about the wines themselves, but also about the vineyards, the microclimates, and the unique aspects of Sonoma that influence each vintage. It was fascinating to learn how the land and climate shape the flavors in the glass.
The experience felt intimate and personal. Tasting with someone who truly knew the wines—and clearly cared about their quality—made it feel special. We enjoyed charcuterie and snacks thoughtfully paired with the pours; the açai berry chocolates with a Pinot, in particular, brought out layers of flavor I’d never noticed before.
While the tasting itself is paid, there’s a great perk: if you purchase a higher-end bottle, you receive two tastings free. As if that weren’t enough, we had the lucky surprise of running into Tony Moll, one of the owners—like casually meeting a super chill celebrity neighbor.
Don’t miss this warm, welcoming gem of Sonoma...
