A hidden gem indeed. My parents shopped at a grocery market for 20+ years less than two miles away yet were totally oblivious to this place. Lovely views across the bay towards Staten Island, Brooklyn, other bits of NJ. If one cranes his neck and stares straight towards the east, a shore of Portugal can be seen on a clear day... I might be exaggerating a bit but so were other reviewers who could see the Manhattan skyline -- it's just too far behind Staten Island. Still, these are the views to behold, a pleasant, very civilised surprise for anyone who looks downs the dumpy, swampy Raritan shore when crossing it on the NJ Turnpike. The beach is impeccably clean, there are walking paths, both paved and on the beach. Some grassy bits of the park are chomped down to the roots by the local geese. These birds spend their weekends elsewhere in the estuary but leave their droppings behind. All in all, a very nice place for an...

Raritan Bay, located in South Amboy, New Jersey, presents a serene escape from the bustling city life.

The beach appears well-maintained with clear demarcation lines in the sand, likely for vehicle access, which indicates good management. The presence of a paved walkway adjacent to the beach enhances accessibility for visitors, including those with strollers or wheelchairs. The view of the residential area from the beachfront showcases charming houses that enjoy an enviable proximity to the water, contributing to the area's cozy and inviting ambiance. The inclusion of public amenities like benches and restrooms indicates thoughtful planning for visitor comfort.

Overall, Raritan Bay seems to be a delightful spot for a day trip or a quiet weekend getaway, where one can enjoy the natural beauty and calming sounds...

This spot has ones of the best sunrises I've ever seen in my life. The beautiful calm perfect ripples wasva sight I've never seen before. Normally waves are crashing against each other but the orange sun and blue water really felt magical. The park entrance was closed when I got their around 6:20 but the gate closest to the beach left of the residential area was open earlier and I was able to post my camera there.

Maybe the conditions that day were good or maybe this is typical for the area. This was my first visit and I'll definitely have to come back again

Here are some photos I took that day and a short video. Enjoy

Some reason Google maps not showing my video files, so cant upload it with the review but I may be able to separate from the review,...
