Broadway Bagels — Restaurant in South Amboy

You get EXACTLY what you want from a "Hometown's Bagel place" Almost every town in Jersey have that bagel place everyone goes to & Broadway Bagels is South Amboys "Hometown Bagel Joint" and it has Great food & Great service with the staff that work there. Always nice to have a familiar face greeting you everytime you go there! Now there are new owners that recently took it over, And with what they have done thus far, they have quickly & quietly put ANY fears to rest that the new owners would try & fix something that wasn't broken! But they also are in the process of getting a new grill to offer the Bagel sandwiches us Jersey people know & love so much! And maybe some new sandwiches we haven't seen before! Broadway Bagels has been a staple in South Amboy community for many years, & with the new ownership that will absolutely continue to be the norm & with new additions, maybe even a little bit better than what we've come to...

I just started purchasing from you guys. Ordering over the phone and picking up my order. At least for a month now.. & now all the sudden you guys do not take orders over the phone. What kind of on the go bagel store is this. You guys are located right next to a train station. People had schedules.. routines. I will not be buying from your guys any longer & I’ve lived in South Amboy for over 17 years. Bagels are good. It’s just sad.. because living in South Amboy you would like to support family owned businesses. & the girl kept arguing with me on the phone.. “we are not supposed to take orders”. Like for a whole month straight you couldn’t tell not once when I came in ... we won’t be talking orders over the phone anymore. What kind of communication skills do...

Staff was great was greeted the minute I walked in the girls behind the counter were a pleasure to speak with. That being said their bacon egg and cheese sandwich is way below standard the eggs and bacon is not made fresh to order it is pre made and microwaved to tempature then placed on bread. The eggs were gooey and the bacon was a bit soft the gooey eggs made the bread soft and almost like a wet feeling to it. I haven't tried anything else there as I'm just passing through the area but I would stay away from bacon egg and cheese sandwiches. The establishment is very clean very nice and they had a lot to offer. I would visit again and try something else if I'm in the area...
