Las Delicias Tex-Mex and Grill — Restaurant in South Amboy

This was actually the 2nd time when I've gotten food from here,& this is putting it mildly... ABSOLUTELY AMAZING 💯 From the first time we actually had our food delivered, and I AM SO GLAD MY WIFE SUGGESTED IT! Got our food ON TIME without a long wait what so ever, & when the food got to the house we realized we stumbled upon small town gold!(When it comes to food) We ordered a lil of everything. Couple Burgers, some Rice & Beans (which was probably one of if not the BEST Rice & Beans I've EVER HAD) TO the couple fajitas with loads of FRESH vegetables and Chicken & the taste out of this world! To a burger that was so juicy it actually felt like you were eating a Great Steak! And then to wrap it up my lil guy got a kids burger and fries. Which the Burger was a normal size Cheeseburger (which was actually a BIG burger fo9r a grown man) and by the end of that meal realized we had just found a new favorite place to eat! Now 2nd time we went is even better than the FIRST! Which I honestly didn't think was possible after how good the first time was. But somehow it was! Lol a must go & try! There was a little bit of a wait but the food was hot, so I know it was freshly made. Super good quality, needed some hot sauce to be provided in the bag for take out. Loves the guacamole!! Delicious thing ever. Meat tender, but a bit chewy for some of the pieces of steaks. Horchata was the best!! Mozzarella sticks was fresh and the marinara was warm and super tasty. Overall good experience. Hope they keep the quality up because I will definitely be returning!! Definitely can tell it’s a family business. Some what appears to be teen boys working the register.

Removing a star, visited a few days ago and my nachos weren’t as good as when I first tried this place. It didn’t have as much steak on it. Also the cashier didn’t ask what I wanted on my nachos and they furthered to Put jalapeños on my nachos. It was hard to decipher which it was to pick off. Could’ve been a hazard for someone else if they were allergic etc, especially being that it’s spicy peppers. Should’ve been put on the side...

I've ordered take out from here 5 times since they've opened as I like to support local businesses. The food tastes good and I have no complaints in that regard. Price is reasonable. The staff are very nice but unorganized/slow at taking orders. Also, once I tried ordering lunch and they were closed for 2 hours (around 1 pm).

My biggest complaint is that each time I order, the food comes in a take-out box that causes everything to smoosh up. Secondly, each time I order something is missing. For example, twice I ordered a diet coke and they forgot to put it in the bag. Another time I ordered enchiladas, which they said comes with beans and rice (both on the menu & the waitress told me verbally). I ended up getting the rice, not the beans. Another time they forgot the sauces that come with the quesadillas.

This place would do well for the long run if these things are fixed and I hope this constructive review helps because like I said, the food...
